Lily Allen and David Harbour are selling their New York townhouse for $8 million, following Allen’s recent album where she publicly revealed Harbour’s cheating.
The singer’s new album, West End Girl, is causing a lot of talk because it reveals details about the end of her marriage to the actor from Stranger Things, following his infidelity.
Lily and David are expected to make a significant profit from their Brooklyn property. They bought it in 2020 for $3.3 million (about £2.5 million).
I’ve been following this couple’s home renovation journey, and it’s been incredible! They’ve completely transformed their place, and they even got Architectural Digest to come and feature it – it’s seriously amazing to see all their hard work recognized.
After recently moving back to London following her separation from her husband, David, Lily has shared that she hopes to live in New York again someday.
In her song ‘Pussy Palace,’ the artist described how she delivered clothes to her ex-boyfriend’s apartment after ending their relationship, only to find items suggesting he had been unfaithful – things like sex toys, lubricant, and condoms were left out in the open.

The Sun reports that Lily and David just listed their home for sale on Sunday, only two days after Lily’s surprise new album came out.
Oh my gosh, I’ve been digging, and I found proof! Lily and David actually bought the house together, but they did it through these separate trusts, which is so interesting! And get this – they’ve been pouring money into renovating it, thousands upon thousands! I knew they were serious about making it their home, and now I have the receipts! It’s just… everything about them is perfect!
It’s described as a story told in layers, blending classic English style with the energy of modern Brooklyn and the warmth of Italian traditions.
Lily and David recently revealed their renovated New York home, which features unique spaces like a media room with tiger print, a luxurious kitchen designed with inspiration from the movie The Godfather, floral-themed rooms reminiscent of Paris, and a spacious walk-in closet.
The living room boasts beautiful crown moulding and opens up to a private garden with a sauna and cold plunge pool for the owner’s use.
In addition to two guest bedrooms upstairs, the house features a finished basement with a gym area, storage, and a laundry room.
A neighbor said it’s been a long time since anyone has lived at the house, noting that while all the other homes on the street were decorated for Halloween, Lily and David’s wasn’t.
Lily moved to London after discovering David had been unfaithful. They separated last year when she found out he’d been having an affair for three years.

The actress recently mentioned in an interview with The Sunday Times Culture Magazine that she hopes to move back to New York someday, explaining that the city is important for her well-being and recovery.
The actress shared that she’s receiving more effective support and therapy for her alcohol and drug addiction in the United States.
In her song “Pussy Palace,” Lily describes going to her ex-boyfriend’s West Village apartment only to find it filled with sex toys and lubricant instead of him.
In the song, Allen describes finding a shoebox filled with letters from women who were hurt and wished he had treated them better. He paints a picture of a messy aftermath – sheets tangled on the floor and long, dark hair left over from the night before.
Lily recently had to sell her house in The Cotswolds to cover a large tax payment. Fortunately, she’s now purchased a new home in Notting Hill, the area where she spent her childhood.
A family friend told Richard Eden of the Daily Mail that she’s happy to be back in west London. Her new home is conveniently located just a ten-minute walk from her mother’s, and the two are very close.
In 2016, Lily sold her historic home in Cranham, Gloucestershire, for £4.2 million. This sale happened after she faced a lawsuit from a former tour manager who claimed she owed them over £100,000. Lily shares two children with her ex-husband, Sam Cooper.
She often thought about the house she once had, the one she’d always dreamed of. It was more than just a home; she’d put her heart and soul into making it perfect, and she’d envisioned raising her family there.
I strongly believe in paying taxes, but I was involved in a lawsuit. I ended up having to settle it using funds I’d saved for my tax payments.
I asked HMRC if I could pay my debt in smaller, monthly payments, but they wouldn’t agree. It was incredibly disheartening and a tough experience that taught me a valuable lesson.
As a longtime fan, it’s amazing to see Lily releasing new music after everything she’s been through. It’s been a really tough period for her since her split from David last December, especially after she revealed he’d been unfaithful – she said it went on for three years with a much younger designer. I’m so proud of her for channeling her emotions into her work.
The Mail on Sunday was the first to identify ‘Madeline’ and they interviewed her at her home in the United States.
Fans are comparing Lily’s new song to Beyoncé’s ‘Becky with the good hair,’ a memorable line from the 2016 song ‘Sorry’ which was about infidelity.

As a lifelong Dolly Parton fan, I’ve always been captivated by ‘Jolene.’ That song, released back in 1973, just gets to me every time. The way she pleads, singing ‘Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, I’m begging of you, please don’t take my man’ – it’s raw, honest, and completely unforgettable. It really captures that feeling of vulnerability and desperation.
Lily’s latest song, “West End Girl,” is getting attention for its very direct and honest lyrics about the end of her four-year marriage to David. The marriage ended last December after Lily publicly accused him of cheating.
The song’s lyrics imply Lily believed the couple had an understanding allowing them to have casual sexual encounters with other people, as long as they kept it secret, involved paid partners, and weren’t based on feelings.
She’s singing about questioning a relationship, wondering if it’s just physical or if there are deeper feelings involved. He promised to keep it secret, confined to private encounters, and never public.
The song’s chorus goes like this: ‘We had a deal – keep it quiet and subtle. There was supposed to be money involved, and it was meant to be with people we didn’t know. But you’re different, Madeline.’
In an interview with The Times, Lily hinted that she and David didn’t respect each other’s boundaries during their relationship, and also discussed how dating apps have made it simpler for people to be unfaithful.
Healthy relationships generally have clear boundaries. However, it feels like people aren’t respecting those boundaries as much lately, creating a lot of uncertainty.
Dating apps can make people feel like they’re easily replaced, which creates the belief that if a relationship isn’t working, there are always plenty of other options available with just a swipe on your phone.
Lily found out about David’s affair when she came across his profile on the exclusive Raya dating app and realized what was happening.
I was absolutely shocked to hear this! Apparently, the singer herself decided to check out the dating app, and she created a profile like she was interested in women. Can you believe it? She actually discovered her now ex-husband had already made his own profile on there! It’s just wild to think about what she must have felt.
In an interview, she explained her view that dating apps create a ‘disposable’ attitude towards relationships and are shifting traditional understandings of being with one partner.
After her breakup with David, Lily sought help at a specialized treatment center costing £8,000 per week to prioritize her well-being and mental health.
Okay, so she finally said it! She confessed she’s been pouring all her pain and everything she’s really feeling into her music. It’s like, she’s just been wanting to be completely honest and put it all out there for everyone to see. It’s so raw and real, and honestly, it makes me love her even more knowing she’s being so vulnerable!
