Like A Dragon: Yakuza Prime TV Series Gets First Teaser Trailer

As a hardcore Yakuza/Like A Dragon fan with countless hours invested in the games, I’m both thrilled and apprehensive about Amazon’s upcoming live-action adaptation of this beloved series. The teaser trailer released by Amazon, featuring Ryoma Takeuchi as Kazuma Kiryu and Kento Kaku as Akira Nishikiyama, has definitely piqued my interest.

Amazon unveiled a preview trailer for the upcoming live-action version of SEGA’s Yakuza/Like A Dragon series, set to premiere on Prime Video in October.

Using the 2005 version (released as “Yakuza: Kiwami” in 2016) as its foundation, “Like A Dragon: Yakuza” features Ryoma Takeuchi of “Kamen Rider” fame portraying the main character Kazuma Kiryu, while Kento Kaku from “House of Ninja” plays Kiryu’s friend Akira Nishikiyama.

For those familiar with Yakuza or Like A Dragon, the dynamics between Kiryu and Nishikiyama are well-known. The upcoming live-action adaptation on Prime Video promises to deliver “dramatic stories” that the video games have not had the chance to fully explore. Quite an intriguing prospect.

When Like A Dragon: Yakuza hits Prime Video on October 24th, we’ll discover if it delivers on its promise, as hinted in the sneak peek provided below.
