Lifetime debuts six new Ripped from the Headlines films starting in October

As a seasoned enthusiast of gripping true-crime narratives, I can confidently say that Lifetime’s upcoming lineup of “Ripped from the Headlines” movies has me absolutely thrilled! The tantalizing tales of mystery, madness, and mayhem are just what I need to keep me on the edge of my seat through October and early November.


LifeTime Network is returning with another round of movies inspired by real-life events, and starting from October 5th, they’ll be showcasing stories filled with madness, murder, and mystery. In all, there are six brand new original films to keep us captivated until early November.

All “Ripped from the Headlines” movies will air successively every Saturday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with each film being inspired by real events. The films already scheduled for release are “Buried Alive and Survived” and “He Slid into her DMs“, which will be shown on September 21 and September 28 respectively.

The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead (October 5):

Initially, authorities suspect that a 15-year-old girl named Erica could be a victim of a serial killer when she goes missing. Three years pass, and at the start of her murder trial, Erica appears with an astonishing tale to share.

Nobody Dumps My Daughter (October 12):

In a overly protective manner, Theresa’s mother Mary develops an unhealthy fixation after Theresa’s boyfriend Jimmy ends their relationship. Desperate to rekindle the romance, Mary employs various tactics to persuade Jimmy to reconcile with Theresa, including offering him incentives. However, when her efforts fail, Mary contemplates hiring a professional to resolve the situation violently.

Husband, Father, Killer (October 19):

As a teenager, Alyssa lived with Steven in a passionate relationship, and together they started a life. When their child was born, Alyssa found herself in a difficult situation due to Steven’s abusive behavior towards the baby, prompting her to make the painful choice of putting the child up for adoption. Eighteen years later, the same daughter returns to the couple’s home, leading to some awkward moments.

Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story (October 26):

Initially, Ruby along with her spouse Kevin launched a well-liked YouTube channel titled “8 Passengers“. They utilized this platform to share their family experiences, including those of their six kids. However, viewers started expressing worry over what seemed like potential mistreatment, and the channel was taken down following their separation. Matters deteriorated further when a counselor named Jodi joined them, and eventually, the abuse intensified.

When Lena, an Amish woman with a complex history, discovers her child has been kidnapped, she’s compelled to seek aid from the one individual able to assist: her former close friend Skye, who abandoned the Amish lifestyle for popularity on social media.

Searching for a Serial Killer: The Regina Smith Story (November 9):

Initially serving as a police officer with the Dallas Police Department, single mother Regina teams up with her partner Eddie. Their grim discovery: a deceased woman who later proves to be the initial victim of Charles Albright, infamously known as “The Eyeball Killer” by the media due to his gruesome habit of plucking out his victims’ eyes. As a greenhorn on the force, Regina is resolute in her efforts to crack this chilling case.
