Life-sized waxwork of Harry Styles is unveiled at Cheshire bakery where he worked as a teenager before finding fame – as fans go wild for the ‘very realistic’ replica
As a seasoned web developer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of innovative designs and captivating content that leave visitors in awe. But nothing quite compares to the exhilarating experience I had when encountering a lifelike statue of a famous celebrity on a popular news website.
At the bakery where Harry Styles once worked, a realistic wax figure of the famous singer-actor was recently revealed to the public.
1. A vibrant, orange-and-gold ensemble worn by the Watermelon Sugar singer, aged 30, is currently showcased at W. Mandeville Bakery situated in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
1. “The statue made of wax is traveling to the permanent home at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, but first, it’s going to make a brief stop at the bakery along the way.”
When I was a teenager, I used to work at that renowned bakery. During my X Factor audition in 2010 before Simon Cowell, I proudly shared their most beloved baking recipes.
Simon Wakefield, the bakery owner, who is 55 years old, expressed his delight by saying: “I’m thrilled to have him back. His presence makes everything look authentic again.”
‘You just expect him to move or blink or do something because it looks quite surreal.’
As a star-struck teen, I was lucky enough to be hired by the legendary baker, Simon, at his bakery. Working alongside him was an absolute joy; he always made me feel valued and appreciated.
He said: ‘He was such a likeable lad, he was really nice and down to earth and easygoing.
‘He had a lot of compliments from customers because of how nice he was.
1. “He was exceptional, much like many of the younger individuals I mentor – it was delightful having him as part of my team.”
1. “I granted him a relief from work since he had an audition, and later on, he requested more time off. I encouraged him to take the opportunity.”
1. “I made it clear to him that he shouldn’t decline it, and things took off from there – it’s incredible to see his rise to the position he’s in now.”
2021 saw him donning a vibrant orange costume for his St. Louis performance, which was part of his Love On Tour, as he manned the waxwork.
Harry is well-known for mentioning during his X Factor tryout that he works there. When asked by the judges what occupation he had, Harry simply answered: “I make a living at a bakery.”
1. After that, Simon probed him more on the specifics of his actions there, and Harry playfully answered: ‘I enjoy helping out…’, which caused laughter among the spectators.
As an ardent admirer, I find myself consistently drawn to X, where the praise for the meticulously crafted waxwork is unanimous. Here are some of the comments I’ve heard: “It feels so real,” “That’s a truly impressive waxwork,” “The realism is astounding,” and “This is simply marvelous!”.
Over 5,000 people visited the charming village last year, attracted by the fact that it was the childhood home of the Sign of the Times singer.
1. “The Holmes Chapel Partnership developed a tour called ‘A Peek into Harry’s Home’, allowing visitors to explore the bakery and the spot where Harry shared his first sweet kiss.”
Simon remarks that most fans are genuinely kind towards the As It Was singer, but some become emotional and cry upon encountering his posters.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the influx of fellow enthusiasts hailing from every corner of the globe! It’s truly remarkable how our shared love for this place unites us. You see, knowing that he too has walked these paths adds an extra layer of connection and authenticity that resonates with everyone. Truly, they are exceptional individuals, all genuinely warm and friendly.
1. “A few individuals become distressed, even shedding tears, upon encountering the Harry poster in our store.”
1. “Now, they offer a tour through the village that has received great acclaim. This journey provides visitors with a glimpse into the places he once walked.”
The figure will go on display at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, Lancashire.
Ross Morgan from the waxwork museum said: ‘The fans have absolutely loved it.
1. “The tour guides themselves, being enthusiastic fans, were among the initial viewers. Their reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with loud shouts and jubilant cheers.”
Many people took turns taking selfies, and fans of various ages came to snap a selfie and have their photo taken with us.
People are astonished by its lifelike appearance, remarking that it seems almost indistinguishable from the real person.
‘They are saying his eyes are absolutely spot on and that he’s in the room.’
