Liev Schreiber, known for his role in the Emmy-nominated show “Ray Donovan,” is recovering after being hospitalized in New York City over the weekend due to a health issue.
A representative for actor Liev Schreiber said he recently underwent testing at a hospital as a precaution. They confirmed this afternoon that he’s been given the all-clear to return to work. The representative hadn’t responded to a request for further comment as of Tuesday.
TMZ reported on Monday that Liev Schreiber was hospitalized over the weekend after experiencing a severe headache on Sunday. His doctor advised him to go to the hospital right away, according to sources. Schreiber spent the night undergoing tests, but TMZ says he’s now able to speak, walk, and move all his limbs normally.

I was really moved by a recent interview with Liev Schreiber. He talked so openly about his daughter, Kai, and her journey coming out as transgender. He described her as a real fighter, and it was just incredibly heartwarming to hear him speak about her with such love and admiration. It’s powerful when actors use their platform to share these personal stories.
Last year, Liev Schreiber, who was formerly married to actress Naomi Watts, revealed he’d been dealing with intense headaches. He recently discussed one particularly bad headache he had while performing in the Broadway show “Doubt: A Parable” during an interview on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”
Liev Schreiber explained that a migraine made him forget his co-star Amy Ryan’s name and caused him to blank on his lines during a performance. This forced his understudy, Chris McGarry, to step in and finish the show. Schreiber told Seth Meyers that he completely lost track of the play, saying, “I knew I was in a play, but I couldn’t remember what play it was.”
I was so worried to hear about what happened to Liev Schreiber! He shared that he thought he was having a stroke one night and had to get an MRI, which thankfully came back clear. It turned out he was experiencing something called transient global amnesia – basically, he couldn’t form new memories or recall things that had just happened. The Mayo Clinic explains it as a temporary inability to remember recent events, and it must have been really frightening for him.

I was really struck by Paris Jackson’s honesty. She’s been so open about how much her past drug use damaged her life, even detailing a perforated septum. It’s incredibly brave of her to share, and she’s right – she doesn’t recommend that path to anyone. It sounds like it truly derailed things for her, and I admire her willingness to warn others.
Things like intense exercise, sexual activity, and minor head injuries can sometimes cause a temporary loss of memory, known as transient global amnesia. Schreiber explained to Meyers that this health issue happened only once, and he was able to continue working on his play afterward.
Schreiber was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance, but Jeremy Strong from “Succession” won the award for best actor in a play for his work in “An Enemy of the People.” Schreiber’s fellow cast members, Ryan and Quincy Tyler Bernstine, were also nominated.
