This week, Liev Schreiber and his previous companion Naomi Watts came together unexpectedly for a heartfelt farewell as they saw their son, Sasha, off to college.
On a Tuesday, the 56-year-old actress posted pictures on Instagram showing her 57-year-old former partner and their 18-year-old son, who was starting college at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, preparing for his freshman year together.
With great joy, the happy parents enjoyed their meal together while Naomi updated her Instagram Stories with the caption, ‘And we’re off…’ on one photo.
Nearly nine years following their split in September 2016, which occurred after an 11-year relationship, the former actor partners surprisingly reunited and showed warmth towards each other.
In addition to their son, they also share their 16-year-old daughter Kai Schreiber.
Both Naomi and Liev, who never tied the knot, went on to marry other people after their split.
In June 2023, the actor from “Mulholland Drive” got married to his fellow actor Billy Crudup, while the star of “Ray Donovan” tied the knot with Taylor Neisen in July of that year.
Liev and Taylor welcomed their daughter Hazel Bee, now two, in August 2023.
One picture on Naomi’s social media profile captures the trio following a shopping trip, where they bought pillows and kitchen supplies specifically for their freshman year in college.
Another photo depicted a pair, father and son, strolling together with interlaced hands downtown Los Angeles.
The mom-of-two wrote, ‘Day #2,’ along the bottom of the picture.
She previously used the platform to post pictures from the move on Monday.
She wrote on the photo of Sasha, who was evidently crying, that he had packed his suitcases and bags.
At the same time, Liev described his experience using the phrase “I began to sense a tug”, as he posted a picture showing him alongside his son.
He mentioned regretfully that he might miss his closest friend, and went on to say that the University of Southern California will be welcoming one of the gentlest, bravest, kindest, and most attractive individuals he has ever encountered.
About a month ago, the family celebrated Sasha’s 18th birthday, with the loving parents expressing their tribute on Instagram.
In the photo he posted, the proud father of three showcased a detailed shot of his eldest’s face adorned with sunlight streaming artistically across it.
On your birthday, looking good! I suggest you give some thought to taking a break and traveling with me in Southeast Asia instead of the gap year.” (Informal)
Naomi shared multiple photos as well, writing, ‘Happy birthday sweet, darling @sashapeteschreiber.
18 years have passed, and I’m stepping into the world with renewed enthusiasm – I can hardly believe it! It’s been an absolute joy to witness your transformation into such a considerate, exceptional young adult. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the incredible experience of being your first-time mother.
