In a single blog entry, Tomlinson lauded his deceased bandmate, describing him as an influential figure and a “warm-hearted, amusing, and compassionate spirit.” He additionally reminisced about encountering Payne and listening to his voice during their days as rivals on “X Factor.
Tomlinson went on, expressing his delight at finally finding a brother in music like the one he’d always yearned for. He commended Payne’s talents and mentioned their discussions about possibly collaborating again.
In the conclusion of his post, Tomlinson added a vintage image of them both on stage, along with a special note specifically addressed to Payne.
