Liam Neeson thriller that “delivers exactly what you expect” is now trending on UK streamer
In a single day following its addition, the action-filled thriller “Honest Thief,” starring Liam Neeson, has surged to become the most-viewed movie on Netflix in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
In 2020, a film was unveiled, earning a 41% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This production has been praised as an “engrossing B-movie thriller” that consistently meets viewer expectations according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In agreement, RogerEbert.COM labeled the movie as “adequately functional yet easily forgettable,” but commended Neeson for his “consistently strong and dependable performance,” as usual.

In the second half, “Honest Thief” follows common action movie patterns, but it also offers unexpected surprises, subtle humor, and a unique character development that sets it apart from typical genre roles.
The movie, helmed and jointly penned by Mark Williams, narrates the story of Tom Dolan (played by Neeson), a transformed ex-Marine now operating as a thief, infamously recognized as the “In-and-Out Bandit”.
Following his infatuation with Annie Wilkins (Kate Walsh), a postgraduate residing in a storage facility, Dolan opts to surrender and return the money he’d taken, all in an effort to cease his deception towards her.
Sadly for Tom, his thoughtful scheme unravels when crooked FBI agents John Nivens (Jai Courtney) and Ramon Hall (Anthony Ramos) opt to keep the pilfered funds instead, pinning the murder on Dolan in the process.
Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan and Peacemaker‘s Robert Patrick are also among the cast.
In a conversation with Collider, Neeson shared the reason he became involved in the project: “I’ve had the privilege of falling in love a couple of times, and it’s an incredibly strong and transformative experience. That’s what drew me to it.
Here’s a pair, consisting of Kate Walsh and me, who fall outside the age range of our twenties and thirties. He chooses to contact the police inspector, expressing his intention to surrender.
As a gamer, I find myself drawn into a tale where he makes a choice, motivated by love for a woman. It might sound like an overused trope, but that’s exactly what made it endearing to me.
Currently, Liam Neeson will portray Lt. Frank Drebin Jr in the upcoming action-comedy movie titled “The Naked Gun“. The film is set to premiere on August 1. Here’s the trailer for this revival: [link to the trailer]
