Avengers: Doomsday promises to be a major turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially as the current storyline, The Multiverse Saga, nears its end. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom will have a lasting impact on the MCU, uniting a diverse group of heroes against the villain Victor von Doom.
Lewis Pullman, who plays Sentry, recently discussed his upcoming role in the 2026 film Avengers: Doomsday. In an interview with Ash Crossan from ScreenRant while promoting The Testament of Ann Lee, Pullman mentioned that he’s one of several actors from the Thunderbolts cast who will appear in the movie. He also shared his thoughts on the trailers for Avengers: Doomsday being shown before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
He expressed his eagerness, saying he hadn’t realized something before, and admitted he hadn’t seen it yet. Despite this, he emphasized how thrilled he was, feeling just as excited as everyone else.
The actor, known for his role in Sentry, shared his enthusiasm for the team and cast, saying it’s a truly remarkable group and he can’t wait to see what they create. He’s thrilled to return for Avengers: Doomsday, expressing his deep affection for the character of Sentry and Bob, and how much he enjoys playing the role.
Disney is launching a major marketing campaign for Avengers: Doomsday, starting with several trailers over the next few weeks. The movie, which is part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finished filming in September, and its plot has been largely secret until now.
The next Avengers movie will bring together actors from the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, and finally connect those teams with the Avengers. This film is also building towards Avengers: Secret Wars, which will conclude the current storyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, known as The Multiverse Saga. After Secret Wars, the MCU will essentially be reset, starting a new chapter with a refreshed timeline.
Avengers: Doomsday will open in theaters on December 18, 2026.
