Leo’s Law Shattered: The Surprising Reason DiCaprio Ditched His ‘Under 25 Rule’ for Vittoria Ceretti

In recent years, Leonardo DiCaprio’s well-deserved fame for his Oscar-winning acting has almost been eclipsed by his reported penchant for dating women under the age of 25.

In fact, the 50-year-old’s allegedly strict criteria – or ‘Leo’s Law’ – has become so notorious it’s said to have become a running joke in Hollywood circles.

That was until 26-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti came along.

For Leo’s current girlfriend – soon to be 27! – has seemingly broken this hard and fast rule.

Despite her young age, Vittoria has been married once before – to Matteo Milleri, 36, an Italian-American DJ who goes by ‘Anyma’ – and an insider claims she’s in no rush to walk down the aisle again. 

The source stated that her casual attitude towards marriage signifies a desire to not rush Leo into advancing their relationship, thereby creating an atmosphere that has enabled their relationship, despite the age difference, to continue beyond what might have been considered its natural end point.

Indeed, despite DiCaprio’s many high-profile relationships across his five decades – including with the likes of actresses Blake Lively and Camila Morrone, as well as models Nina Agdal and Gisele Bündchen – has resisted ever tying the knot.

‘With previous relationships he felt a certain pressure to make it official with talk of marriage, but there is no rush to change what [he and Ceretti] have right now,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.

She is his most authentic girlfriend yet; she genuinely makes him feel loved. It’s evident that they both cherish their relationship. The source explained that she comprehends his unpredictable schedule, and she never exhibits any signs of jealousy.

Indeed, DiCaprio often finds himself surrounded by beautiful women, whether while on his favored summer yachting holidays or on film sets.

‘He appreciates that so much, because it is important to him to have his own life alongside his life with Vittoria, who also has the space to concentrate on her own successful career,’ the source continued. ‘It just works, and friends believe she will be the one, because she isn’t pressuring him into marriage.’

Of course, it’s not lost on those friends that Vittoria was born in 1998, a whole year after James Cameron’s iconic movie Titanic launched a then 23-year-old DiCaprio to global stardom.

But despite that gaping age gap, our insider insists ‘Vittoria loves being Leo’s best friend’ – a position she perhaps would not have filled had she been around in the 1990s, when DiCaprio hung out with his so-called ‘p***y posse’, whose members included fellow actors Tobey Maguire and Lukas Haas. The group were famed for their wild nights out.

In 2014, Leo admitted to Esquire magazine that women struggled to fit in with his nomadic lifestyle, saying: ‘Six months of being on location or being off in Morocco or someplace like that is not the best thing for a relationship.’

Now, he’s seemingly more settled than ever with globetrotting Ceretti, who has amassed 1.8 million Instagram followers – and who seems more than happy to accompany DiCaprio on his various travels.

Many had thought DiCaprio would marry actress and model Camila Morrone, who he was with for four years between 2017 and 2022.

She opened up about their long-term relationship to the Los Angeles Times in 2019. 

‘There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps,’ she gushed. ‘I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.’ 

But in August 2022 – shortly after Morrone’s 25th birthday – they reportedly ended their romance.

It was part of a pattern. In 2005, he had split from Gisele Bundchen when she was 25. In 2011, an on-off six-year fling with model Bar Refaeli (then 25) came to an end. Blake Lively dated DiCaprio for a five months when she was 24. And in 2017, he broke up with Danish model Nina Agdal two months after she hit the quarter century.

All of which makes it so much more astounding that 26-year-old Ceretti has got away with it. 

As another insider told the Daily Mail, the Catch Me If You Can actor ‘has been tamed, and his friends feel Vittoria may be the one’ because ‘he only has eyes for her.’

It’s said that everyone in Ceretti’s family loves her dearly, including DiCaprio’s 82-year-old mother Irmelin Indenbirken, who he has a very close bond with. As an only child and without a spouse, DiCaprio frequently brings his mom as his date to movie premieres.

It certainly also helps that Ceretti shares DiCaprio’s passion for environmental causes. According to Elle magazine, for her past three birthdays, she has asked 100 to 200 party guests to plant a tree via the organization Treedom.

In June, as Ceretti turns 27, she can toast not only her own birthday but also securing the uncontainable leading man of Hollywood.
