Over the weekend, Leonardo DiCaprio celebrated Robert De Niro’s 82nd birthday alongside other prominent celebrities, including distinguished directors Martin Scorsese and George Lucas.
On a sunny New York City Sunday, the Oscar-winning actor, aged 50, was spotted making an entrance at The Greenwich Hotel, accompanied by other high-profile attendees.
On August 17, Robert celebrated his birthday by spending time with a small group of dear friends and relatives in New York City.
Previously collaborating with the notable actor on Martin Scorsese’s film “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Leonardo maintained a discreet appearance upon his arrival at the venue, donning a simple combination of black pants and a matching jacket.
Moreover, the actor who played on the Titanic put on a pair of black sneakers and donned a black hat atop his head.
Apart from them, his father George, holding a wrapped present, and his stepmother Peggy were with him too.

Leonardo’s niece, Normandie Farrar, was likewise present with the group and exuded a relaxed elegance in a simple white shirt and jeans with a short sleeve.
It’s been observed that both Leonardo and Normandie have been seen socializing together. Towards the end of last year, they even dined out with Robert and his 46-year-old partner, Tiffany Chen.
Martin, too, arrived at the hotel for the festivities, wearing a crisp white dress shirt and a pair of black slacks.
For the celebrations at the hotel, Martin was another guest to join in. He wore a white button-up shirt and black trousers.
The filmmaker finished off the cast by adding a green suit jacket and donned a pair of brown leather boots.
Over several years, Robert has worked alongside the director on multiple films. Notable among these are “Taxi Driver” released in 1976, “Goodfellas” from 1990, “Casino” in 1995, and most recently, “The Irishman” in 2019.
In the year 2023, Martin looked back on his friendship with the actor and recalled the events that led to their professional collaboration.
In conversation with the Hindustan Times, the director expressed that his relationship with Robert De Niro is significant, dating back to when we were both 16 years old. However, over time, we had fallen out of touch. Unbeknownst to each other, he was pursuing a career in acting and I was embarking on my journey as a director.
Remarkably, I couldn’t help but cross paths with them yet again when we found ourselves collaborating on the gritty 1973 crime drama, Mean Streets. A thrilling reunion indeed!

‘When we did Mean Streets, we were reintroduced to each other by Brian De Palma,’ Martin recalled.
As a devoted admirer, I discovered a striking resemblance between my interests and those portrayed in Mean Streets and Taxi Driver, as we seemed to gravitate towards similar themes revolving around human psychology and emotional struggles within characters and even ourselves. This shared fascination cultivated an unspoken bond of trust.
Additionally present at the celebration was another director named George Lucas, who is famed for creating the adored Star Wars movie series.
Although Robert and George haven’t worked together on a film project, they’ve formed a strong bond of friendship instead.
In May of last year, Robert attended as one of the numerous famous attendees at George’s 80th birthday bash that took place at Skywalker Ranch, located in California.
On Sunday, I couldn’t help but feel my heart pounding as I approached The Greenwich Hotel. To my delight, the director himself stepped out from a stylish SUV, dressed casually yet elegantly in a plaid shirt and a pair of black track pants.
George also opted for a pair of comfy Nike sneakers as he made his way towards the main entrance.
In simpler terms, Tiffany, who is Robert’s mother of his child, was briefly seen as well. She seemed to display some distinctive temporary tattoos on her right arm, one of which seemed to feature both her and the actor from The Godfather Part II.

Before the bash officially kicked off, an array of balloons were spotted outside of the hotel.
During an interview for Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace last year, Robert reflected on aging.
When queried about his thoughts on aging, the Hollywood star succinctly responded, “I can’t do anything about it,” followed by, “Accept it. Accept what life has bestowed upon you.
The star has a father-daughter relationship with Gia, who is two years old, and they share this bond with Tiffany. Additionally, he is the father to six other children: Drena (age 53), Raphael (48), twins Julian and Airyn (both 29), Elliot (27), and Helen Grace (13).
Over the course of 60 years, Robert has accumulated 120 movie credits. More recently, he’s taken an audacious step in the realm of filmmaking.
As a passionate New Yorker with deep roots in this vibrant city, I’ve made an exciting investment in the place that has inspired my career for so long. My son, Raphael De Niro, and I, along with our trusted partner, Adam Gordon, recently unveiled a state-of-the-art, 775,000-square-foot production studio nestled in Queens. This endeavor is more than just a business venture – it’s a testament to the boundless creativity and energy that defines New York City.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve always found a special affection for capturing moments in the bustling city of New York. In my opinion, there’s simply nowhere else quite like it – a sentiment I shared with The New York Times earlier this month.
In recent times, the movie business in the stated region has faced challenges such as strikes, layoffs, and relocation of productions to other states.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement knowing that New York Governor Kathy Hochul has just given the green light to an astounding $800 million in film subsidies! This move is going to be a game-changer for productions in the state, and I am more than ready to witness the magic unfold on my home turf.
Currently, the star is intending to shoot exclusively within the state, as he stated to the publication: “Shooting in New York is simply superior, full stop.
