On a particular day, actor Leo Woodall has been added to the ensemble of “Vladimir,” an upcoming Netflix thriller that teases a tantalizing exploration of clandestine passions.
According to Julia May Jonas’s 2022 book, the narrative centers around an English professor who finds herself in a complex predicament as her husband, another teacher, faces numerous accusations from his former students. Intriguingly, this central character develops a personal fixation of her own as events unfold.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the talented Woodall, known for his roles in “The White Lotus” and “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” has officially been cast as the main character. This exciting news comes alongside the previously announced Rachel Weisz, with Woodall now joining the stellar cast (according to Tudum).
In this project, Weisz joins Jonas as an executive producer, with Jonas adapting his own book in collaboration with showrunner Kate Robin. Moreover, Sharon Horgan, famed for her work on “Catastrophe” and “Motherland,” is also involved in the production of the series.
Horgan expressed his admiration for Julia’s writing from the outset, stating this during the project announcement in March. Partnering with Netflix and having Rachel involved, he added, is an exciting opportunity, and it underscores the exceptional quality of the scripts.
In simpler terms, Tracey Pakosta, a vice president at Netflix for comedy series, referred to the eight-episode production as a “multi-dimensional” and “humorously somber masterpiece.” She hinted that it would skillfully delve into the “intricacies of attraction and ethical dilemmas.
In the plot summary, we find that as a woman’s life takes an unexpected turn, she becomes increasingly captivated by a mysterious new coworker. This gripping tale, titled “Vladimir“, delves into the intrigue of sexual mysteries, dark humor, and multifaceted characters. The story explores the dangerous consequences when a woman decides to make her wildest dreams a reality.
As a fervent admirer, I’m excited to share that I, much like Woodall who charmed audiences in Apple TV+’s Prime Target, am set to appear on the silver screen in Nuremberg. This captivating historical drama delves into the life of Douglas Kelley, portrayed by Rami Malek, as he assesses the mental fitness of Nazi prisoners, determining whether they should face trial.
Under the guidance of James Vanderbilt, who penned and directed it, the upcoming movie titled “Nuremberg” boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, and Richard E. Grant. This film is set to debut in theaters nationwide in November, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the trials it portrays.
