Leo Woodall and Rachel Weisz’s “offbeat” trending Netflix drama branded “cheeky” and “easy to watch”

Netflix viewers are buzzing about “Vladimir,” a new drama series starring Leo Woodall and Rachel Weisz. The show, which arrived on the streaming platform earlier this week, is described as quirky and unique. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Julia May Jonas, who also wrote the screenplay.

In the show, Weisz portrays M, an English professor and the story’s narrator. M is a writer struggling with a lack of inspiration, and her marriage to another professor, John (played by John Slattery), has lost its passion.

When accusations of sexual misconduct surface against him, her life is thrown into chaos. However, the arrival of a gifted young writer named Vladimir (Woodall) and his wife, Cynthia (Jessica Henwick), unexpectedly brings a renewed sense of hope and excitement.

Since its release last Thursday, March 5th, the series has quickly become popular with audiences. It’s currently ranked as the third most-watched show on both Netflix worldwide and in the UK, according to Flix Patrol.

Critics generally like the series Vladimir, giving it a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 38 reviews. Most agree it’s enjoyable, but some find it a bit disorganized.

What to Read Next

In a review giving the series three stars, Digital Spy noted a clear appreciation for literature throughout the writing, stemming from the fact that two of the main characters are English professors and novelists.

We thought Vladimir looked fantastic, partly thanks to Rachel Weisz being in most scenes. Plus, with episodes around 30 minutes long, it’s still engaging despite any imperfections.

RogerEbert.com described the show’s first seven chaotic episodes as leading to a strong and empowering eighth episode. The Independent praised it as fast-paced and enjoyable.

I was reading a review in The Times, and they described the show as being full of intense characters and a lot of complicated relationships. They said it really draws you into the main character’s world, and honestly, it made watching feel a little bit thrilling and, dare I say, a bit scandalous – but in a really smart, grown-up way.

Metro also offered a positive review, stating that Vladimir delivers a surprising and exciting story – it doesn’t quite follow the expected path, and includes just the right amount of romance to keep viewers engaged.

Vladimir is available now on Netflix.

The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
