Leo Woodall and Meghann Fahy Steal the Show at 2025 BAFTAs

At the BAFTAs held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, Leo Woodall beamed with joy as he snuggled close to his stylish partner, Meghann Fahy.

30-year-old Jim Carrey, known for his role in “The Truman Show,” appeared to be more affectionate than before with 34-year-old Katie Stevens, co-star from “The Bold Type,” during a glamorous event. They both radiated happiness as they posed together for photos at the grand occasion.

Leo presented an elegant appearance in a spacious, brown double-breasted jacket, pairing it with a crisp white shirt, a sleek black bow tie, and a striking floral brooch.

In the movie “Mad About the Boy,” Leo portrays Roxster, Bridget’s (played by Renée Zellweger) younger love interest, however, in reality, he is involved with Meghann.

At the glamorous event filled with celebrities, Meghann deliberately caught everyone’s attention by wearing a black lace-up dress without a bra.

The actress highlighted her stunning physique, particularly her toned waist, in an outfit featuring a single shoulder and a sizable side cut-out.

During the filming of “The White Lotus” in 2022, Meghann showcased her long legs confidently with a bold thigh-high slit and added height to her stature in a set of high heeled shoes.

Tying up her long, golden hair in an elegant high ponytail, she showcased her captivating grin as she stood ready for photographs.

For a captivating evening filled with excitement, the EE BAFTA 2025 Awards are back, honoring the outstanding films of the year and the visionary artists who breathe life into them.

For six consecutive years, the glittering event was hosted at the Royal Albert Hall. However, starting from 2023, this prestigious occasion will be relocated to a fresh venue: the Royal Festival Hall within the Southbank Centre, where it will resume its position once more.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards encompass 25 competitive categories which are decided by BAFTA members. 

The program is set to unveil several thrilling advancements, among them being the introduction of a fresh category for Children’s and Family Films. This category aims to honor exceptional movies that captivate viewers across different age groups.

For the first time in five years, a fresh category has been introduced, which represents the debut of a new EE BAFTA Film Award after a gap of five years.

A fresh development is the introduction of a revised voting system for the Outstanding British Film category.

In the Thriller Conclave, a whopping 12 nominations were achieved in every category, making it the most nominated production. Meanwhile, Emilia Perez followed closely with an impressive 11 nominations, and The Brutalist came in third with 9 nods.

On our native turf, Conclave has garnered double the number of nominations at this year’s BAFTAs compared to its count from the Golden Globes held in LA last month.

In this gripping drama featuring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and Isabella Rossellini, we delve into the covert and tense election of a fresh Pope, an event fraught with intense power struggles, relentless ambition, and hidden truths that ignite conflicts among rival cardinals.

In a surprising turn of events, it surpassed the Golden Globe’s top winner, the Spanish drama “Emilia Perez,” which received 11 BAFTA nominations, making it the second most nominated title. This comes after it won an impressive 10 awards at the U.S. award ceremony.

Once more, the judges of awards have overlooked Gladiator 2, with the film missing out on the nomination for Best Film and its principal actor, the talented Irish performer Paul Mescal, aged 28, failing to secure a spot on the BAFTA’s longlist for Best Actor.

62-year-old Demi Moore, who received her initial acting award at the Globes for Substance, has been nominated in the Lead Actress category alongside Cynthia Erivo, 38, from Wicked, and Saoirse Ronan, 30, for the Outrun.

Movie business experts think that by getting nominated for the BAFTAs, the actress from “Ghost” significantly increases her chances of winning an Oscar for the first time.

In other BAFTA nominations, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin from Succession are set to compete against each other for the Best Supporting Actor award, with Strong nominated for his role in “A Real Pain” and Culkin for his performance in the Trump biopic titled “The Apprentice.

Simultaneously, Adrien Brody’s movie “The Brutalist” earned nine BAFTA nominations, while “Dune 2” and “Wicked” each received seven nominations.

Marisa Abela is at the forefront of the contenders for the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award, thanks to her performance as Amy Winehouse in the 2024 movie titled “Back To Black.

On Tuesday, the finalists were revealed as Marisa, Jharrel Jerome (the indomitable one), David Jonsson (from Alien: Romulus), Mikey Madison (of Anora fame), and Nabhaan Rizwan (known for In Camera).

Coincidentally, David, Nabhaan and Marisa were all stars of BBC drama Industry.

Sara Putt, chairwoman of BAFTA, expressed to the Press Association news agency that this year’s BAFTA nominations exhibit an exceptional diversity.

She noted: “However, if you examine the top 10 films under ‘Best Film’, it seems like there are six distinct movie genres represented in that list.

Oh my goodness! Can you believe it? We’ve got sci-fi, we’ve got laughter, we’ve got chills… straight drama, songs, and so much more! But As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement!

Check out this fantastic collection of movies that range from ‘Wicked’ to ‘Kneecap’. The variety in this list is truly impressive, making it incredibly thrilling.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but marvel at this prestigious award, knowing that it has catapulted stars like Tom Holland, James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, Lashana Lynch, and Kristen Stewart to A-list fame.

David Tennant will take to the stage to host the BAFTAs for a second year in a row. 

The actor, 53, first hosted the awards show last year, taking over from Richard E Grant.

Without a doubt, he’s expected to showcase his charm and wit, given the impressive success of his first appearance which was viewed by approximately 3.8 million viewers domestically after its premiere.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that over 20 million times, fellow enthusiasts like myself have tuned into the highlights of the grand event on various social media platforms. It seems we just can’t get enough!

This year, Prince William, the head of BAFTA, typically has his wife Catherine by his side at the red carpet event; however, it’s unlikely that they will be present for this year’s ceremony.

Last year, it was Kate who couldn’t attend the awards due to the fact that she had already disclosed in a video message dated March 22, that she was battling cancer. On the other hand, Prince William graced the red carpet on his own at the Baftas.

The 2025 EE Bafta Film Awards will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7pm on Sunday February 16.
