Leisel Jones has made a heartbreaking confession about her love life.
Australian swimming legend, 40, says she’s lost hope of finding romance, two years after divorcing her husband, Damon Martin.
The Olympic champion playfully shared a ‘2025 Dating Wrapped’ post on her Instagram story, a fun take on Spotify’s popular ‘Wrapped’ feature that summarizes her year in relationships.
The photo showed Leisel looking cheerful and smiling, despite the serious message she shared with it.
‘2025 Dating Wrapped – 3 x 1st dates, 1 x 2nd dates,’ she wrote.
‘1 x download and delete Hinge, phone dry, 1 x boy on my mind, 100% given up hope.’

Leisel told News Corp that her feelings of hopelessness, stemming from being tired of dating apps, might not last forever.
‘Just for now, it is very exhausting,’ she said.
Using dating apps can be really draining. It’s tiring to manage all the conversations, messages, and effort it takes to stay active on them.
Yes, I’ve basically given up on it. It’s just too tiring to constantly text back and forth.
I’ve been chatting with Leisel, and while she’s open to the idea of a lasting relationship someday, marriage isn’t necessarily something she’s planning for right now. She’s keeping her options open and isn’t ruling it out, but it’s definitely not a priority at the moment.
It’s likely too expensive for me right now. I recently bought a house and have a mortgage to pay, so managing my cost of living is my main focus.
In November 2023, Leisel announced her split on her Triple M radio show, explaining that she and her partner had come to the conclusion they were better off apart.
‘We have separated. It’s incredibly sad news,’ Leisel told listeners at the time.

I truly value Damo, and this is a difficult and unfortunate situation for both of us. It wasn’t easy to make this decision.
Leisel and Damon tied the knot at the beautiful Peppers resort in Bowral, New South Wales, in August 2018, just under a year after getting engaged.
I was really moved when Leisel recently opened up about her struggles with mental health. It all started when people online noticed she wasn’t doing okay, and she bravely decided to share what she was going through. It felt so honest and important.
In July, she publicly shared a concerning message on social media, revealing she had been struggling with suicidal thoughts.
“I just wished I could peacefully slip away in my sleep,” Leisel shared with the Daily Telegraph. “That felt like the best possible outcome at the time.”
She explained that she shared the honest post to show how quickly things can change – even in just one day.
She explained that yesterday had been a terrible day and she’d almost given up, but today she experienced the most wonderful walk of her life.
‘I’m going to post this just to show the difference a day can make.’
Leisel shared in a post that she lives with ‘high-functioning depression’ and wanted to be open about her experiences, explaining that people can struggle with depression even if they seem cheerful.
‘I am really passionate about talking about it,’ she said.
Depression doesn’t always look like intense sadness. It can affect anyone, even those who seem successful and capable, people who consistently manage their responsibilities and commitments.
