Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals husband Andre Gray went to therapy after he brayed her as she opens up about losing trust in a relationship

Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared that her husband, Andre Gray, sought therapy after hurting her feelings and damaging her trust. She spoke openly about feeling betrayed in their relationship.

The singer and her fiancé, Andre, a footballer, both age 34, got married in June 2023. They had welcomed their twin children together in August 2021.

The former Little Mix singer revealed their relationship hasn’t always been easy, but things have improved because Andre decided to seek therapy and work on their issues together.

Leigh-Anne recently told Paloma Faith on her podcast, Mad Sad Bad, that she’s experienced betrayal in the past.

She explained that she and her husband went through a difficult period marked by dishonesty and a loss of trust, which felt like a betrayal.

Ugh, heartbreak is just… intense, you know? It totally sucks, especially when it’s someone you’re so crazy about, and the thought that they could actually cause you that much pain? It’s just… devastating. I can’t even think about it without feeling awful!

The singer shared that footballer Andre recognized he’d been acting selfishly after relocating to Greece to play for Aris Thessaloniki.

She continued: ‘Well, I think that person has to want to change and he did. 

It’s normal to face challenges in a relationship, but if your partner isn’t willing to work on things with you, it’s best to move on.

You don’t need to worry about this – it’s someone else’s responsibility to handle the work and fix any problems. It’s not your fault, and you’re not to blame.

He started going to therapy, and I think moving to play sports overseas really helped him. It gave him time to reflect and realize he hadn’t been prioritizing the relationship – he’d been acting selfishly.

Okay, so I was completely devastated when I saw Leigh-Anne’s TikTok back in June 2024. She actually revealed that Andre hurt her so badly at the beginning of their relationship! I mean, it broke my heart for her, honestly. It was so raw and real to see her talk about it, and it just showed how much they’ve overcome. I’ve been following their journey forever, and this just made me love them both even more.

Leigh-Anne shared that she discovered the importance of forgiveness because the footballer made a real effort to improve himself for her.

Leigh-Anne revealed that despite experiencing heartbreak, she’s still in a relationship with the person who caused her pain.

I realized how powerful forgiveness can be. I’m still in a relationship with the person who hurt me, and he really made an effort to become a better partner.

If you can overcome a challenge and reach the other side, it makes everything worth the effort.

People sometimes question why I stay with someone or give them another chance. They might see it as being too forgiving or not prioritizing my own needs. But ultimately, I believe only I can know what’s best for me.

Leigh-Anne explained that the couple overcame their difficulties and are now in a very happy and positive place in their relationship.

She explained that if someone genuinely demonstrates a willingness to change, it speaks volumes. You can’t force someone to change, but their own effort to improve is a clear indicator of their character.

I needed to experience those challenges in our relationship to reach the wonderful place we’re at now.

The singer of ‘Don’t Say Love’ also mentioned that forgiving someone is perfectly acceptable and isn’t a sign of weakness – it can actually be a positive and restorative process.

Leigh-Anne believes it’s fine to forgive someone, but you shouldn’t allow anyone to disrespect or take advantage of you.

‘Make sure you have those barriers up to protect yourself and to know when enough is enough.

Experiencing pain helps us develop resilience and protect ourselves from repeating past mistakes. Don’t think of forgiveness as a sign of weakness—it can actually be incredibly strong and help us heal.

During a conversation with Paloma, Leigh-Anne said her previous record label completely ignored her after a disagreement, leading to them eventually ending their contract with her.

The singer, 34, first signed to Warner Records in 2022 after going solo but last year got dropped.

She’s now completely in charge of her music, releasing it herself through Virgin Music Group. Her first album, ‘My Ego Told Me To,’ is coming out this year.

She’s now looking back on a difficult year leading up to her decision to become independent, saying Warner Bros. essentially stopped communicating with her before they ended their working relationship.

She revealed she was leaving the record label and said her manager abruptly ended their phone call before she could get a reason for being let go.

Things got really tough with my record label, and I ended up leaving. It was a frustrating experience – they just stopped communicating with us, completely ignoring our calls and emails. It felt so strange and unsettling, like we were being completely shut out.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe someone would act that way. The label head called, but hung up after just two rings, and I never received an explanation for what happened.

‘So that was quite brutal.’

Looking back on the start of my career as a solo artist, I think I was performing well. I don’t believe the problems were due to anything I did; it was the other people involved.

At the very least, they could have called. But it was a strange time, so I decided to leave and become independent the following year.

The singer, formerly of Little Mix, has already shared a few songs, and her first album is expected to come out in February 2026.
