Leigh-Anne Pinnock is paying for her first solo album herself, as she’s no longer signed to her previous record label.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m so excited to share that Jesy Nelson, formerly of Little Mix, is embarking on a fantastic new chapter as a solo artist! She’s releasing her debut album, ‘My Ego Told Me To,’ next month, and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be huge. It’s wonderful to see her confidently stepping into this new phase of her career.
Leigh-Anne, with an estimated net worth of £20 million, shared that she’s now funding projects herself since she no longer has the backing of a record label.
It’s challenging now that I’m financially independent. Without a record label funding my projects, I’m responsible for everything myself and want to pursue all my ideas.
I’m really pushing myself to make ends meet and I’m paying for everything myself, which is a huge burden. I’m determined to stay true to my creative vision and won’t sacrifice my artistic integrity.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Leigh-Anne just opened up on Instagram last month! She was so real about everything she’s been going through, and it was honestly so brave of her. But the best part? She said she’s finally ‘taking control’ and releasing her album! I’ve been waiting forever, and hearing her say that just made my whole week. I’m SO ready for this album – it feels like she’s really poured her heart and soul into it, and I can’t wait to hear it all!
The singer began her solo career by signing with Warner Records in 2022. However, she was recently released from that label and is now independently releasing her music through Virgin Music Group, giving her complete creative control.
Leigh-Anne shared a personal update with her 9.7 million followers, revealing she’s taking charge of her life after a difficult year. She spoke candidly in a video filmed while sitting in her luxurious walk-in closet.
Releasing a long breath, the singer said: ‘So, long story short, the label have said no basically.
My record label can’t afford to release my album right now, so I’m taking control of the project myself. It’s a fresh start, and I’m really excited to lead the way.
After finishing her update, the singer behind “Shout Out To My Ex” posted a collection of videos showcasing her performances as a solo artist.
Leigh-Anne announced she’s excited to achieve even greater success with her upcoming solo album and a headlining tour.
This is a reminder that believing in yourself can lead to amazing opportunities. If you’ve been looking for encouragement, consider this your sign: you have the strength and ability to achieve anything. Don’t change who you are to please others – you are already worthy and complete, and always have been.
Wishing everyone all the best for 2026! I’m excited about my first solo album, ‘My Ego Told Me To,’ and the upcoming tour. Here’s to even more love, life, and success in the year ahead.

Leigh-Anne has said her previous record label completely ignored her after a disagreement, leading to them eventually ending their contract with her.
During an appearance on Paloma Faith’s Mad Sad Bad podcast, Leigh-Anne revealed details about her departure from the record label. She said the label executive ended the phone call before she could receive any explanation for why she was being let go.
Let me tell you, navigating the music industry can be tough. I recently went through a really difficult split with my record label. It got to the point where they just stopped communicating with us – complete silence, like we were being ghosted! Honestly, it was a really chaotic and unsettling time, but ultimately, it was time to move on.
When you really think about it, it’s shocking how someone could act that way. The label head called me, but hung up after just two rings, so I never got any explanation.
‘So that was quite brutal.’
Looking back at the start of my career as a solo artist, I think I was performing well. I don’t believe the problems were due to anything I did; it was the other people involved.
At the very least, they could have called. But it was a strange time, so I decided to leave and become independent the following year.
