LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy episodes ranked

As a seasoned gamer and long-time Star Wars enthusiast, I must say that LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy has truly outdone itself. The series is a delightful rollercoaster ride of humor, action, and heartfelt moments, all wrapped up in the iconic LEGO aesthetic.

In the game titled “LEGO Star Wars: Restore the Galaxy,” we follow the tale of a young, Force-empowered boy named Sig. His unearthing of a cryptic Jedi relic causes chaos throughout the entire cosmos, transforming the heroes he admired into the evil forces of the Star Wars galaxy – even his brother Dev. Determined to set things right, Sig embarks on an audacious journey with some fresh allies, aiming to repair and restore order in his once peaceful galaxy.

In this mini-series, fresh characters meet beloved Jedi and Sith who have switched sides. Amidst the thrill of battles and unexpected character trades, it’s a heartwarming tale about the bond between two brothers, as Sig strives to rescue the one he cherishes most. Here are my rankings for the four episodes, listed from top-notch to so-so:

1. Part 2

The introduction of Darth Jar Jar, a reference to a fun fan theory, was enough to put this episode at the top for me. This episode is when all of the fun twists become apparent, from Ewok bounty hunters to pod-racer Luke Skywalker to a band of evil Sith made up of former Star Wars heroes (in defiance of the Sith Rule of Two!). The episode is full of great references and jokes, but it also does a wonderful job of world-building. I loved the creative introduction of Force Builders and Sith Breakers as a way to connect LEGO to the story.

2. Part 3

In this installment, we’re treated to more intriguing twists within the world as a Jedi Council comprised of once-villainous characters is unveiled, featuring Jedi Palpatine and a light-side Vader. As Sig’s fresh allies embark on a mission to Dagobah for the replacement of the Cornerstone and the rescue of their trapped comrades, tension escalates and hidden betrayals surface. The episode culminates in shocking disclosures and finishes with an exhilarating cliffhanger.

3. Part 4

One way to rephrase the given text might be: “The bond between Sig and Dev is among the most captivating aspects of the series, and in this particular installment, there’s optimism that they may someday reconnect as siblings. In this episode, Sig acknowledges his responsibilities as a hero and a Jedi in the newly discovered galaxy. Although I found this episode enjoyable, it left me with an unsatisfied feeling. The conclusion seemed abrupt, leaving some plot threads unresolved. For instance, if Dev and Sig could recreate their original home, it wasn’t clear why they couldn’t fully reestablish the entire universe. Additionally, the high death toll during the final battle was unexpected. Despite these shortcomings, this episode had several emotional scenes that truly stood out.

4. Part 1

LEGO Star Wars consistently incorporates humorous references to the original stories it’s based on, such as in the opening of Rebuild the Galaxy. This part offers a side-splitting retelling of Star Wars lore and sets the stage for the ensuing mayhem. However, while there are some enjoyable segments, this episode primarily serves to introduce characters and establish the plot. On its own merit, it’s the least memorable of the series.

In summary, “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” is a delightful miniseries that caters to Star Wars enthusiasts of all ages. The initial episode, despite being ranked last, still managed to bring a smile to my face. If you’re interested, you can find and rate all episodes of “Rebuild the Galaxy” on Disney Plus for your personal enjoyment.
