LEGO James Bond Game Canned Pitch Leaked in Short Trailer

As a longtime fan of both LEGO games and the iconic James Bond franchise, the prospect of a LEGO James Bond game has me thoroughly intrigued! Having grown up playing LEGO games like Harry Potter and Indiana Jones, I can only imagine the delight that such a title would bring to my collection.

It seems that during the time when LEGO Dimensions was popular, developer TT Games was proposing a LEGO James Bond game, as suggested by a leaked trailer giving us a glimpse of what might have been.

The short 47-second clip, shared from the LEGO Gaming Reddit forum (originally posted by Eurogamer), has a raw quality and could use more information, but it maintains the style typical of TT Games’ LEGO series. Frankly, it looks promising enough that I would happily spend my money on it.

On the Reddit forum, some users theorize that the Bond video could have originally been proposed as a potential LEGO Dimensions expansion pack, with Mission: Impossible serving as its substitute. Yet, it appears this theory is unfounded, and if developed further, LEGO James Bond would have been a separate game altogether, rather than an addition to an existing series.

According to the source who released the video, it wasn’t designed for LEGO Dimensions Year 3; instead, it was created as a proposal to persuade The LEGO Group to approve a complete game. It was produced during the final phase when TT Games were aware that LEGO Dimensions wouldn’t receive a third year of content.

As a dedicated fan, it seems like I’ve stumbled upon some intriguing news. It appears that the LEGO Group had second thoughts about Bond fitting into their game universe, leading to the cancellation of the project – even though they’ve successfully created a LEGO Speed Champions 007 Aston Martin mode. The source hints at the root of the confusion being traced back to a build of LEGO Dimensions.
