LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – All 21 DC Characters In the Game

TT Games’ new LEGO game, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, is coming soon, and it will feature 21 characters from the DC universe. The game is being described as a celebration of Batman’s history, taking players through different eras of his crime-fighting career. To tell this complete story, the game will include a wide range of DC heroes and villains – from Batman’s allies to his most famous enemies.

TT Games hasn’t yet revealed when their next LEGO Batman game will be released, but a recent demo of Legacy of the Dark Knight played by TopMob suggests a new direction, taking inspiration from the Arkham series. Players can expect to explore a blocky version of Gotham City on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Every Character Confirmed to Appear in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Batman

As a huge Batman fan, I’m really excited about The Legacy of the Dark Knight! From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be a brand new story for Bruce Wayne, and it sounds like the developers are treating the character with a lot of love and respect. It’s a LEGO game, so you can expect the usual fun, but this one seems like it’s really digging into Batman’s history – everything from how he became the Dark Knight, his training with the League of Assassins, and all his adventures with the Bat-Family in Gotham. It sounds like a dream come true for a lifelong Batman enthusiast like me!

Take a peek at all the Bat-Suits confirmed to appear in Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Alfred

No Batman tale is complete without Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and father figure. This version of Alfred seems inspired by Michael Caine’s portrayal in The Dark Knight, and he’ll likely be offering Batman crucial support and advice as he tackles his next challenges.

Jim Gordon

The Jim Gordon featured in Legacy of the Dark Knight will take inspiration from his portrayal in The Batman. He’s one of seven characters players can control, and will team up with Batman on certain missions. Gordon will have his own unique abilities, including a glider, and players can customize his look with different costumes.

Batgirl

With excitement building for the Bat-Family’s role in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, several characters will be playable in the upcoming LEGO Batman 4 video game. This includes Barbara Gordon, who is known as Batgirl and the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon. The game might even explore her future transformation into Oracle, should it depict the events of her injury caused by the Joker.

Nightwing

Okay, so I’m super excited – Nightwing is finally coming to the Legacy of the Dark Knight game! Apparently, he was the costume for Halloween 2025, which is wild. But more importantly, we’ll actually get to play as him, with his own fighting style and everything. They’re promising we’ll see his whole story – from his days as the acrobatic Flying Grayson, through being Robin, and finally becoming the Nightwing we know from Bludhaven. It’s going to be awesome to experience his journey alongside Batman!

Robin

No Batman game would be complete without Robin, and he’ll be a playable character! It’s currently unknown which version of Robin will appear, or if players will be able to choose from different Robins.

Talia Al Ghul

The game LEGO Batman 4 hinted at a relationship between Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul. Now, fans are curious if the upcoming Legacy of the Dark Knight will explore Batman’s story far enough to include their son, Damian Wayne, who later becomes Robin.

Catwoman

Besides Talia al Ghul, Batman will also have a romantic connection with Selina Kyle, better known as Catwoman, in the upcoming LEGO Batman 4 game. Catwoman is one of seven characters players will be able to control, and she’s expected to be portrayed as more of a complex, morally grey character than a typical villain.

Lucius Fox

Lucius Fox, played by Morgan Freeman, will be back in Legacy of the Dark Knight, supplying Batman with the tech and equipment he needs.

Thomas Wayne

Thomas Wayne, the wealthy and skilled surgeon from Gotham, will appear in LEGO Batman 4, likely only in the beginning as part of flashback scenes, given his death. Because the game, Legacy of the Dark Knight, delves into Bruce Wayne’s early life, it’s expected – though not officially confirmed – that his mother, Martha Wayne, will also be included.

Joker/Red Hood

The upcoming film, Legacy of the Dark Knight, will cover Batman’s entire history and also delve into the Joker’s past. The movie will show the Joker’s early days as the leader of the Red Hood gang, before the accident at Ace Chemicals that transformed him into the iconic villain – a portrayal likely influenced by Heath Ledger’s famous performance.

The game shows Joker wearing a helmet and being called “Red Hood One” in the subtitles. This has led to speculation that Jason Todd, who also uses the Red Hood identity, might appear later in Legacy of the Dark Knight, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.

Penguin

Fans can relive the iconic car chase from The Batman in the upcoming game, Legacy of the Dark Knight. Players will see Batman pursue the Penguin – one of nine different Batmobiles will be featured. The game’s version of the Penguin, Oswalt Cobblepot, is designed after Colin Farrell’s portrayal in Matt Reeves’ film, aiming for a realistic look rather than a traditional comic book style.

Ra’s al Ghul

Ra’s al Ghul, the centuries-old leader of the League of Assassins, will be an important character in Legacy of the Dark Knight. This is because of his relationship as Talia’s father and his history of training Bruce Wayne in Tibet.

Bane

The Bane character in Legacy of the Dark Knight is based on his appearance in The Dark Knight Rises, and he’ll say his iconic line, “You merely adopted the dark, I was born in it,” even though this version is a larger figure. Although Tom Hardy, who played Bane in the film, isn’t voicing the character in the game, the developers have cast Matt Berry, known for his role in A Minecraft Movie, to provide the voice.

Two-Face

People have been seeing images of Harvey Dent, the former Gotham District Attorney who became the villain Two-Face, appearing on posters and graffiti around the city. Interestingly, the depictions seem to be based on Tommy Lee Jones’ look from the movie Batman Forever, and not Aaron Eckhart’s version from The Dark Knight.

Poison Ivy

As a huge Batman fan, I’ve been scouring everything related to the new movie, and I noticed some graffiti featuring Poison Ivy, similar to the Two-Face tags! It definitely suggests she’s somewhere in this story, even if it’s just a nod. It’s a bit of a bummer though – the look isn’t the same as Uma Thurman’s iconic version from Batman & Robin. I was hoping to see that design again!

The Riddler

The upcoming game, Legacy of the Dark Knight, will include puzzles and collectibles inspired by the Arkham series. Players will need to solve Riddler’s challenges and find hidden items throughout Gotham City. The game’s version of the Riddler won’t resemble previous movie portrayals, either Jim Carrey’s from Batman Forever or Paul Dano’s from The Batman; the developers are creating a unique design.

Gillian B. Loeb

Before James Gordon became police commissioner, Gillian B. Loeb was in charge of the GCPD, at least initially, as shown in Legacy of the Dark Knight. He typically loses his position because of his connections to corruption and criminal organizations, though a LEGO Batman game might handle those issues differently.

Egghead

TT Games is also referencing the classic 1960s Batman TV series starring Adam West. Fans spotted Egghead – a character originally played by Vincent Price – and his signature egg-shaped head during a prison escape scene in the game’s trailer.

Condiment King

Condiment King, a famously funny villain from the classic Batman: The Animated Series, will be featured in the game. While Mitchell Mayo, the character who shoots ketchup, will make an appearance, he’s expected to be more of a comedic element than a major player in the story.

Bat-Mite

Bat-Mite, the popular, dimension-hopping fan of Batman and a favorite character of James Gunn, is joining the next LEGO Batman game. He’ll be a non-player character who runs shops where players can purchase Batman suits, cosmetic items, and customize their Batcave.
