Next to other posts on Instagram, Natasha shared: ‘My Liverpool Abode. To the city I was raised in, you never fail to astonish me. I strongly advocate for not losing sight of one’s roots, so come along as I revisit cherished memories. ✨

I was raised in Kenny, essentially within the urban boundaries. Living so near the city as a child was thrilling because there was constantly somewhere new to explore, something fascinating to witness, or an opportunity for a small-scale escapade.

I recall finding myself seated up on the upper level of a bus, side by side with my father, enjoying the view outside as he drove me towards an exciting new destination.

Currently, every time I return to Liverpool with him, he reminisces about his childhood by telling tales. Since he grew up in Liverpool 1, the Anglican Cathedral served as his playground; there’s still a bench engraved with his name within it, as far as I can remember!

Recently, I found myself chuckling as I recalled days spent running across Newsham Park, regardless of whether it was sunny, raining, or even hailing.

Instead of being overly enthusiastic about attending the teenage dance, it was more about spending time with the guys since I went to an all-girls school run by nuns. Additionally, the neighborhood happenings couldn’t be beaten, even compared to Coronation Street; Kenny didn’t stand a chance!

What’s particularly noteworthy is the strong feelings of pride and camaraderie. I was raised in a nurturing environment brimming with affection and encouragement from my parents ❤️, and the city mirrored that same warmth and backing for me too. It instilled in me the conviction that anything could be achieved.

A while back, I actually returned to the home where I spent my childhood before moving to London at age 16 (my mom wasn’t particularly fond of that idea!). It was strange yet familiar being there, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart as our house.

Reflecting on my past, Liverpool holds a special place in my heart as it was where I transformed from a timid child into a bold dreamer, fueled by the courage to pursue lofty aspirations and cultivated my deep-rooted passion for music. So, what’s your hometown’s significance in your life?
