Oh, my heart skips a beat! Scissor Sisters are reuniting after 12 long years? It feels like coming home again to a warm, glittery, and fabulous living room filled with friends I’ve known for decades.

Legendary noughties group, the Scissor Sisters, are said to be preparing for a reunion after an eleven-year hiatus, with plans for a grand UK arena tour scheduled for 2025.

Jake Shears and Ana Matronic are set to embark on a tour next year, marking twenty years since their self-titled debut album became a massive hit in the UK, selling over six million copies as per reports.

Despite not yet announcing any new music projects and last releasing a complete album in 2012 with Magic Hour, there are reports that this band will perform at London’s O2 Arena and Manchester’s Co-op Live.

According to a trusted source, discussions regarding a Scissor Sisters reunion have been ongoing for quite some time, but the timing has never seemed quite appropriate.

2025 performance schedules have now been established. Fortunately, the band has reconciled and everything is ready for takeoff!

They plan to perform at significant venues across the UK, with anticipation for more new music in the future.

TopMob has contacted Scissor Sisters for comment.

Besides Jake and Ana, the band also includes Del Marquis on the lead guitar and Randy Real on drums, who has taken over from Paddy Boom.

Reflecting on recent times, I find myself yearning for a reunion – it’s an aspiration of mine that has been burning in my heart. I truly hope that one day I’ll be able to turn this dream into reality.

The Scissor Sisters produced a total of four studio albums over the course of their partnership, and among these releases were popular songs like “Laura,” “Take Your Mama,” “Filthy/Gorgeous,” “Comfortably Numb,” and their number-one hit single “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’.

Following the separation, Jake launched two standalone music albums and starred as the lead in a production of Cabaret on London’s West End stage. Meanwhile, Ana transitioned into becoming a radio host and DJ.

In the year 2000, this legendary group was established and subsequently collected three Brit Awards and received a Grammy nomination. However, in 2012, they decided to take an open-ended break from their music career.

Lead singer Jake Shears has expressed a desire to create fresh tunes, sharing with NME: “I truly aim to produce another Scissor Sisters album – I’m unsure of the timeline for that.

He added: ‘I think everybody would need to want to do it. I don’t wanna twist anybody’s arm – that would just be no fun.’

Despite entertaining the possibility earlier, he ultimately dismissed the thought of a reunion tour for their anniversary, stating in 2021, “To be honest, it’s not really appealing to me. I’d rather focus on creating fresh music.

The American band last released music in 2012 with their fourth and final studio album Magic Hour.

2019 saw Jake mention that the band was taking a break, implying that their chart-topping song “Let’s Have a Kiki” on Billboard’s US Dance Club Songs chart essentially led to their separation.

He told Gay Cities: ‘I truly had no idea what to follow that up with. So I thought, we’ve been recording and touring for 10 years, and I felt like it was time.

It hadn’t been part of our plans for anyone in the band to do this, but I figured we could wrap things up with a bang instead!

‘But you know what? That’s not to say we’re never going to do anything again. The Scissor Sisters will be back.’
