As someone who has spent years navigating the tumultuous world of celebrity, I must say that Jeremy Clarkson’s latest venture, The Farmer’s Dog pub, is a bold and commendable move. Unlike some stars who seem to squander their fortunes on frivolous purchases or extravagant parties, Clarkson appears to be investing his earnings in a way that benefits British farmers and the local economy.

This week, a renowned Irish musical group shared the stage with Jeremy Clarkson at his latest establishment, The Farmer’s Dog, exciting many famous attendees.

1990s legends The Corrs entertained fortunate patrons which included James Blunt, Ellen DeGeneres, and Natalie Imbruglia with music and dance performances at a location in Asthall, close to Burford, Oxfordshire. (or)

The pub posted a video of the celebrations on their official Instagram account, showing everyone joyfully singing along to their top tunes.

The post was captioned: ‘What a great night in the pub with The Corrs.

An ideal pub evening would consist of an acoustic performance, some refreshing beverages, and fantastic company. Kudos to Jeremy Clarkson for arranging it!

People who attended commented below, expressing: ‘The event was fantastic. The food and ambiance were delightful. Many thanks!’

‘I was there last night for the sound check – they were amazing!’

The Corrs is a family band from Ireland, blending pop-rock tunes with traditional Irish motifs in their compositions.

The Corr clan comprises Andrea, Sharon, Caroline, and Jim. Originating from Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland, they make up this particular group.

In September, Jeremy provided a revealing response concerning his troubled pub, The Farmer’s Dog, during his appearance on Good Morning Britain.

The pub he opened in August exclusively sources ingredients, ranging from fresh produce to seasonings like pepper and salt, all from within Britain. This is done with the intention of giving additional backing to British farmers.

Yet, this situation has put the ex-Top Gear host in a predicament, as he found out rather swiftly about the considerably increased prices associated with locally sourced goods.

Instead of “And it appeared The Grand Tour host was not up for discussing the recent challenges,” you could say “The Grand Tour host seemed unwilling to talk about recent difficulties when showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold inquired, quickly ending the conversation with a simple ‘No.'” or “When showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold asked about the recent challenges, The Grand Tour host declined to discuss it with just one word: ‘No’.

With his automotive companions James May and Richard Hammond by his side, Jeremy, aged 64, confessed that prior to launching the venture, he had been advised against it.

Fellow presenter James said: ‘It’s making money, isn’t it? And it’s easy to run,’

After that, Jeremy swiftly responded by sharing the wise counsel he had previously disregarded, which had been offered by friends like James Blunt and Guy Ritchie.

He said: ‘No. It’s properly difficult. He said not to get one. He said “I’ve got one, don’t get one,” and I got one. James Blunt also told me not to get one, Guy Ritchie told me not to get one.’

After admitting that each customer costs him approximately £10 at his pub located in the Cotswolds due to his rigid business strategy, it followed.

The celebrity expressed his aspiration for The Farmer’s Dog business to thrive, though he noted that limiting the ingredients to solely British produce would result in significantly smaller profits.

He mentioned that transforming pork from his Diddly Squat farm into sausages for selling at the pub would cost approximately 0.74 pence per item.

But if he used imported pig meat it would be 0.18p.

He said: ‘It costs us 0.74p to get a sausage into here, but if I buy imported pig meat it is 0.18. There is something wrong with the food system in this country.’

Apart from discussing his financial troubles, Jeremy also disclosed that he has established an exclusive bar within the local pub, yet this special area is only accessible to farmers.

In simpler terms, the ex-host of Top Gear mentioned that only individuals working in agriculture were permitted access to the upper bar area at his local pub.

People waited patiently for a taste of his £6 pint of Hawkstone beer or the chance to tuck into an £18 plate of sausage and mash at the opening.

However, one disgruntled Instagram user slammed the prices as ‘sick’ and said: ‘Really necessary to charge those prices? Absolutely ripping people off because it’s on TV.’

However, Jeremy justified the prices, explaining, “Each item you see here is cultivated by British farmers, right down to the black pepper and sugar!

However, by purchasing products directly from local producers who ensure fair wages for British farmers, there may be a rise in prices experienced by pub patrons.

At a price point of £6 per pint and £3.10 for a half-pint, you’ll find the Hawkstone IPA, Hawkstone Premium, Hawkstone Hedgerow Cider, and plain Hawkstone Cider on tap.

Hawkstone Session Lager is priced slightly lower than other options like the Hawkstone Pils, Hawkstone Breeze, or cask ales, each costing approximately £5.50 per pint, while half-pints (or halves) of these are available for £2.90.

The pub also sells cans of alcohol-free Hawkstone Spa lager for £3.10.

Additionally, among the main course offerings, you’ll find Steak Pie & Mash priced at £19, followed by Gammon Steak also for £19, Sausages & Mash costing £18, and a Vegetable & Cheddar Crumble at £15. All are ready to satisfy your appetite!

Puddings cost around £8 with both apple crumble and cheesecake on the menu.
