Riot Games recently unveiled the new Winter-themed skins for League of Legends, including special Mythic versions coming in the next update, and the exclusive skin players can earn this season.
The holidays are almost here, and League of Legends is celebrating with a charming set of new skins! Mel, Zeri, Smolder, and Milio are all getting winter-themed looks to help you enjoy the festive season. Get ready to play League with your favorite Christmas tunes!
Winter skins are coming back to League of Legends!
The story behind the winter-themed skins tells of the Poro King, a benevolent ruler who brings happiness to his kingdom, the Winterlands. Even those who try to challenge him ultimately share his appreciation for the beauty of winter.
As a long-time League of Legends player, I remember winter skins being around almost since the beginning! They’ve released so many over the years, and it’s fun to look back at all the different themes. We’ve had everything from ‘Winter Wonder’ and ‘Frostfire’ way back when, to more recent lines like ‘Winterblessed’. There have been so many cool ones – ‘Snow Man’, ‘Snow Fawn’, ‘Frozen Prince’, ‘Frostblade’, and ‘Snowstorm’ – it’s amazing to see how they’ve kept the winter theme going for so long!
It’s obvious Riot Games is excited about the current season. Even if it’s not winter everywhere, the League of Legends map, Summoner’s Rift, is getting a winter makeover with a festive theme. New winter-themed character skins will be released in League of Legends in 2025.
Winter Wonder Zeri and Milio
Zeri and Milio are getting new Winter Wonder skins! Zeri’s will be a special ‘legendary’ skin, priced at 1,820 RP (about $16). Milio will receive an ‘epic’ skin that costs 1,350 RP (around $10).
Prestige Winterblessed Mel
Our mid laner, Mel, is getting a special Prestige skin as part of the Winterblessed collection! To unlock it, you’ll need to purchase the new battle pass and level up to 50. Don’t forget, you still have around 48 days to finish the current pass and earn the Prestige Eternal Aspect Zoe skin.
Reindeer Smolder
Smolder, the adorable little monster, is getting a brand new winter skin! It’s expected to be an epic-level skin, meaning it will cost 1,350 RP.
Mythic variants
The League of Legends patch 25.24, coming out on December 3rd, will add two new Mythic skins to the in-game shop: Sunken Shadows Nami and Sunken Shadows Lucian. These skins have an underwater and pirate theme, bringing a fresh look to Summoner’s Rift.
Victorious Draven
Finally, the new Victorious Draven skin is here! Every year, Riot Games rewards dedicated ranked players, and this year’s prize goes to Draven. This skin will have different color schemes for each rank, plus a brand new design. You can find it in the League of Legends patch 25.24.
