Match recap

It’s likely that many spectators anticipated that Team T1 would maintain their dominance in the LCK Regional Finals 2024, given their impressive track record on both the Korean and international League of Legends esports circuit. Notably, they recently emerged victorious at the Esports World Cup 2024. It’s been quite some time since DK managed to beat T1, but a new chapter in this unbeaten streak is about to unfold.

The sequence of events in the series was dynamic, marked by constant shifts. No team had a clear advantage, and the matches extended over an extended period. It seemed as if either team could emerge victorious, which makes DK’s accomplishment truly remarkable.

In Game 5, Dplus managed to keep the series alive despite T1’s initial victories. A couple of strategic battles allowed DK to gain an advantage, ultimately leading to their victory over their opponents.

In simpler terms, “Dplus” emerged victorious in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Regional Finals 2024. As part of their prizes, they secured the third qualifying position for the League of Legends World Championship 2024.

For Team T1, their upcoming challenge lies ahead as they prepare to encounter either KT Rolster or FearX in the lower finals. This battle represents their final opportunity to secure a spot at the World Championship tournament.

Game 1

In Game 1, DK proved to be formidable adversaries, even for top-tier team T1. They secured early kills, and their strategy for pursuing objectives was quite sound. However, T1 has faced such challenges before. The unpredictability of the game’s first phase and several errors from both sides allowed T1 to adjust their positioning and strike at opportune moments.

T1 emerged victorious in the game, yet their status as clear favorites felt uneasy due to the lengthy and unpredictable nature of the match.

Game 2

Initially, the game appeared much like its predecessor, making another victory for T1 seem almost predictable. However, DK surprised everyone by being aggressive from the get-go. As T1 regained control, it seemed they were building up their lead. But after a lull, DK snatched Mountain Drake and quickly turned the tide with an impressive team fight. Instead of pausing to regroup, they swiftly moved on to siege T1’s base, ultimately destroying their Nexus.

The LCK Regional Qualifier #1 for LoL World 2024 was getting even more interesting.

Game 3

With a strategic grasp of their resources at hand, Team 1 emerged victorious in the match. Their rivals seemed slightly scattered, but Team 1 maintained focus, pursued their objectives, and successfully accomplished them.

The game was long again, around 45 minutes. DK had great moments and impressive potential. But they faced defending World Champions, and you can’t underestimate this. T1 were on match point!

Game 4

In this game, things fell perfectly into place for me as Dplus. I was able to snag a couple Dragons and grab Inferno Soul, which combined with Baron buff, allowed us to take down the T1 champions effortlessly. Plus, our DK showed some serious restraint at a crucial moment – he didn’t overcommit! Instead, we took a step back for a reset after demolishing the T1 base. And after another intense team fight, we marched back for the Nexus.

Not everyone expected this series to be so close. T1 and DK went for game 5.

Game 5

For a bit there, it seemed like T1 was about to take the win in this game. They were on a roll, ramping up their champion development and overwhelming us. But all of a sudden, Dplus came storming back, and T1’s strategy crumbled before our eyes.

Step by step, it became clear that DK had control over game 5. The destruction of the nexus was an inevitable outcome. In the end, Dplus emerged victorious against T1, qualifying for the League of Legends World Championship 2024.

The Lower Final LCK Regional Finals 2024 on September 14 represents the final opportunity for team T1 to compete for the World Championship title.

The fans are nervous, the fans are full of hope

Without a doubt, the LCK Regional Finals 2024 took T1 fans by surprise. Many had high hopes that T1 would make it to the Worlds event from LCK Summer 2024, but unfortunately, they faced defeat at the hands of Hanwha Life Esports in the lower final. This unexpected loss paved the way for HLE, who went on to conquer the entire split, including a victory over Gen.G.

On the other side, we find supporters of Dplus. Facing T1, who have had some uncertain performances recently, has given them a glimmer of optimism. Previously, Dplus finished 2nd at the LCK Regional Finals in 2023 and beat HLE. Now, they’ve managed to climb up to first place!

In the Lower Semi-finals of LCK Summer 2024, T1 had previously triumphed against Dplus. However, Gen.G secured victory in the Upper Final versus HLE, a fact you are aware of, and we all remember how that concluded in the Grand Final.
