As a long-time enthusiast of Law & Order: SVU and someone who has seen every episode since its debut, I must say, the return of Kelli Giddish as Amanda Rollins is nothing short of exhilarating! Her character has been integral to the show’s narrative for many seasons, and her departure last year left a void that I hadn’t realized was so profound until now.

Law & Order: SVU has confirmed the return of Kelli Giddish as Amanda Rollins for multiple episodes.

As a devoted viewer, I’ve been thrilled to see this character as a central figure throughout most of the series. However, towards the end of last year in 2022, they bid farewell from being a regular cast member. Yet, happily, they’ve graced our screens once more in their recent guest role for the 25th season.

Showrunner David Graziano has disclosed that they will rejoin the team for Season 26, with multiple returns planned throughout the season. Take a look at the snapshots from the set below:

“He revealed to TVLine that Rollins will indeed return to the series. She’ll appear as a guest star multiple times during the season, and we’re all quite excited about it.”

Showrunner Julie Martin hinted that the character will show up in multiple episodes, but hasn’t specified the exact number just yet.

Graziano clarified that Rollins would be collaborating with the New York Police Department’s Intelligence Unit, noting that this unit stands apart from others due to its global reach, with officers posted in nearly every nation worldwide.

“And so, Rollins is going to be traveling a lot as part of that job,” he added.

In simpler terms, the head of the show clarified to viewers that Rollins is still married to Sonny, and her temporary absence provides an opportunity for Sonny to grow as a solo parent.

He mentioned that we’d witness Carisi and his daughter finding themselves in a situation where they might need to collaborate to extricate themselves.

As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite series, Law & Order: SVU, got renewed for its 26th season earlier this year! The original show also received an exciting extension, running for a remarkable 24th season. Can’t wait to see what these talented teams have in store for us next!
