Law & Order Actor Gets 25 Years to Life for Chilling Revenge Murder

In a court ruling, Isaiah Stokes, known for his role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, has been given a sentence of 25 years minimum, with the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison, for the 2021 murder by shooting of Tyrone Jones.

45-year-old Stokes was convicted of second-degree murder and two charges of unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree on March 13, after a two-week court trial by a jury.

37-year-old individual named Jones, who unfortunately became a victim when Stokes attacked him after an incident at Jones’ birthday celebration, sustained numerous gunshot injuries to his head and torso. Regrettably, he was confirmed deceased at the scene in St Albans, Queens, New York on February 7th, 2021.

Stokes was arrested for the ambush murder six months later on July 16, 2021.

Stokes looked despondent as the sentence was read out Friday – before the judge tore into him.

In a statement, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz explained that Isaiah Stokes, feeling ashamed and upset due to being kicked out of a birthday party in October 2020, took revenge on Tyrone Jones.

After several months, the accused secretly installed a GPS tracking system on the victim’s car and followed him relentlessly for over a week. Eventually, Stokes located Jones on Linden Boulevard and unloaded 11 shots into the victim’s vehicle, hitting him in both his head and chest.

The culprit who intentionally took a life in cold blood has received appropriate punishment, which means he is now sentenced to serve between 25 years and the rest of his life behind bars, all due to the wrongful deeds he committed.

At a court hearing on July 24, Isaiah, currently detained at Rikers Island in New York, appeared dramatically transformed due to significant weight loss.

Katz stated in a prior comment: ‘This was a premeditated killing. The suspect, who occasionally acted, had been simmering with anger for several months following his expulsion from a 2020 birthday party due to his unacceptable conduct towards the female attendees.’

Eager for retribution, Isaiah Stokes secretly installed a GPS device on the victim’s car. Using this tracking system, he located Tyrone Jones on Linden Boulevard and mercilessly fired 11 shots at him as he was seated in his parked Jeep Cherokee.

Our workplace prioritizes addressing gun violence in our community, and we’ll leverage all available resources for investigating, apprehending, and bringing to justice those who recklessly employ firearms on our streets. I express my gratitude towards our prosecutors and the dedicated NYPD detectives who have tirelessly worked on this case.

A resident of Queens once appeared as the character Tyrone Beckwith in a single episode from the tenth season of the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which was broadcast on NBC all the way back in 2009.

In the year 2006, Isaiah appeared for two episodes in the third season of FX’s series Rescue Me, portraying the character who fatally shot NYPD detective Johnny Gavin, played by Dean Winters.

In 2011, Stokes played the character Louis in the second season of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

In the second and fourth seasons of the FX show Louie, which was once hosted by the creator of FONTY Records, he portrayed two distinct characters – a pharmacy worker and an individual known for spitting – in the years 2011 and 2014, under the disgraced comedian Louis C.K.’s direction.

In the year 2019, Isaiah made his final on-screen appearance as a guest star in an episode of the sixth season of the Starz series Power, which was overseen by 50 Cent in his role as executive producer.

In the year 2023, Stokes’ final music release under his hip-hop persona I$AIAH was the song titled “Persona of a Hustler.
