Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen sharply criticized Meghan Markle following the release of her Netflix holiday special, ‘With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration’.

The well-known interior designer, age 60, criticized Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, for choosing not to film the show at her personal residence. He shared his thoughts in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Viewers were surprised to discover Meghan films her show on a nearby estate, despite previously suggesting it would be filmed at her actual home, offering a personal look into her everyday life.

I’m really excited about Laurence’s new show! He’s hinted that he’s planning a totally different approach than the other presenter, who’s a mom of two. It sounds like he’s really going to shake things up, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what he does!

He contrasted himself with Meghan, stating he would genuinely film in his own home, unlike her, who he implied borrowed a location for her filming.

Meghan shared that she chose not to film her new Netflix series at her home in Montecito, prioritizing her family’s needs.

She explained to People magazine that she wanted to preserve the special, peaceful feeling of the original location, which is why they chose to film somewhere else.

She described her family as very close, and shared how much she cherishes simple moments with her three-year-old daughter, Lilibet – like getting her down for a nap, eating lunch together, and spending quiet time together at the end of the day.

The Duchess explained that their kitchen is simply where her mother cooks for their family, and with a household of over 80 people, it means a lot of cooking and a lot of people in their home!

Throughout the show, Meghan makes it clear she isn’t filming from her real home, mentioning it several times.

While preparing a snack mix of things like peanut butter pretzels and popcorn for her friend’s first visit, she realized she’d have to take the leftovers back to her own place.

Discussing celebrity homes, a leading interior designer criticized the Kardashians’ houses, describing them as bland and minimally decorated with a lot of beige.

Laurence also pointed out that, unlike the Kardashians, his home would be full of interesting things to look at, instead of being a minimalist, empty space.

It’s really striking how many incredibly wealthy people today seem to be flaunting their riches by embracing minimalism and owning very little.

In the past, showing wealth meant displaying possessions like gold, elaborate curtains, and intricate details. But now, people like the Kardashians seem to prefer a minimalist aesthetic, and I find that sends a strange signal.

Laurence is preparing for the next season of his popular show, House Of The Year, with judges Jane Larmour, James Fairley, and Patricia McGinnis.

The popular series House Of The Year is back! You can start watching the first five episodes on BBC iPlayer and BBC One Northern Ireland from Monday, January 5th.

Each week, three different homes will compete for a spot in the final five, with the ultimate goal of being named House of the Year.

The grand final will broadcast February 9.

Laurence expressed his pride in ‘House Of The Year,’ noting he helped launch the show back in 2010. He believes it remains a fantastic platform for displaying inspiring ideas about housing in Northern Ireland.

It’s great to see how much more people are expressing themselves now – their own unique personalities and creativity are really shining through. It feels like there’s less pressure to conform to traditional, ‘adult’ expectations.
