Lauren Sanchez narrowly avoided a wipeout while out in Paris with husband Jeff Bezos on Monday.
During Paris Fashion Week, 56-year-old Emmy-winning journalist Gayle King and 62-year-old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos arrived at the Christian Dior fashion show. As they entered, Gayle King stumbled in the doorway.
Okay, so I saw this video online, and honestly, it could happen to anyone! She was looking fabulous, working the cameras in her heels – classic! But as she was walking, her heel just caught on the edge of the doorway, and she stumbled for a second. Luckily, she quickly regained her balance, but it was a good reminder that even when you’re trying to look polished, unexpected things can happen!
However, the mom-of-three quickly recovered, and smoothly made her way inside the building.
Sanchez looked fashionable in a light blue skirt and jacket, accented by a luxurious fur collar.
The celebrity, who had previously worn a bold red outfit, completed their look with oversized sunglasses and a grey handbag.
Her husband, a billionaire, looked sharp in a dark navy suit and button-down shirt.
The duo — who wed in 2025 — held hands as they walked inside.
On Monday, Sanchez made a striking impression at the start of Paris Haute Couture week, attending the Schiaparelli fashion show in a prominent front row seat.
She made a striking entrance in a bright red skirt suit, walking hand-in-hand with Bezos. They were arriving for the first of 49 presentations scheduled to take place over four days in Paris.
Wearing red heels that matched her outfit, Sanchez chatted with other guests before going inside.
Continuing her unique style, the former journalist chose a stylish silver handbag decorated with gold details, and shaped like a face.
I noticed Jeff Bezos kept his look pretty classic alongside his wife – he wore a simple black suit with a black shirt and some really nice, shiny leather Chelsea boots. It wasn’t flashy, but definitely polished and put-together.
Last June, the couple tied the knot on the beautiful Italian island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The wedding was a three-day event, and guests included well-known figures like Ivanka Trump, Oprah Winfrey, and Kim Kardashian.
The wedding celebration, estimated to have cost around $20 million and lasted several days, featured a foam party on Bezos’ yacht, an extravagant pre-wedding dinner, and a celebratory lunch at the famous Harry’s Bar.
Ellie Goulding sang at their wedding reception, and Usher performed at a fun, pajama-themed brunch the following day.
As a lifestyle expert, I have to say this wedding was absolutely breathtaking! The couple chose a beautifully restored amphitheater on the island for their vows, and the bride’s dress was a true work of art. It was a stunning, long-sleeved lace Dolce & Gabbana gown – I read in Vogue that it took over 900 hours of skilled craftsmanship to create! Talk about dedication to detail.
The dress had a full, flowing skirt and a long veil, with a fitted waist and lots of buttons down the front.
Over the weekend, Sanchez accessorized with several custom pieces referencing her new married name, including a black clutch covered in rhinestones that spelled out ‘Mrs. Bezos’ in silver gems.
There was a strict no-phone policy and around 70 of the 200 guests were family members.
Bezos proposed to Sanchez two years before their wedding, with the proposal taking place privately on his $500 million yacht.
In December, Sanchez celebrated her birthday with her high-profile celebrity pals.
Okay, so after that amazing birthday video she posted – seriously, it was so sweet and showed all sorts of personal moments, including sneak peeks from her wedding! – she threw this incredible, totally A-list party. It was like, everything you could imagine and more, and I was just completely blown away by how gorgeous and perfect everything was. I’ve been following her forever and this just cemented my status as a die-hard fan!
Sanchez posted a video showing her rehearsing her walk in the famous Dolce & Gabbana dress, along with a picture of herself happily posing on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
Another photo revealed the socialite wearing a face mask during a workout, likely as she prepared for her wedding.
Sanchez wrote that if someone had described her life at age 56 when she was a child, she wouldn’t have thought it possible.
Thinking about her marriage, family, new book, and trip to space helped her feel centered and balanced like nothing else ever has.
