Lauren Goodger publicly thanked Gemma Collins, sharing that Gemma was the only cast member from TOWIE to send flowers following the sad loss of her daughter, Lorena.
The 38-year-old reality star opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her daughter during a conversation with Zoe Hardman and Georgia Dayton on their Made For Mummas podcast.
Lauren, mom to four-year-old Larose, gave birth to a second daughter in July 2022. Sadly, the baby passed away just moments after birth due to a lack of oxygen when the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck.
The actress, who has two daughters with her former partner Charles Drury, spoke openly with them about the recent loss. She also praised Gemma for being incredibly supportive, explaining that Gemma was the only person who sent flowers, which meant a great deal to her.
Lauren, who left the reality show TOWIE in 2012 after six seasons, recently returned and hopes Gemma Collins will join her. However, she says Gemma is asking for a huge amount of money to come back – reportedly around £1 million per day, which Lauren considers excessive.
Lauren is releasing her book, Mum Of Two, to support other parents. She shares her personal struggles with grief and how she found the strength to cope each day, hoping to help them through similar experiences.
She shared her sadness with Zoe and Georgia, explaining how much she misses Lorena and how they continue to honor her memory in their daily lives.
Talking about her time on TOWIE, she mentioned some past cast members and then revealed how much she appreciated the support she received from Gemma.
Speaking about bringing Gemma back to the show, the producer said they’ve tried, but she’s asking for an extremely high fee – reportedly around a million pounds a day.
During a deeply personal conversation, she shared the challenges of her childhood and explained how writing about the devastating loss of her newborn baby helped her heal.
Lauren wants to support other parents by openly sharing her personal journey through grief, and explaining how she managed to find the strength to cope each day.
Lauren recently shared on Instagram that her book, ‘Mum Of Two,’ will be available for purchase in July. She expressed her excitement about finally being able to announce the release.
As many of you know, my oldest daughter, Larose, means everything to me. She’s a natural showman, just like her mother. But my youngest, Lorena, is a bit of a mystery. I never had the chance to hear her laugh or even cry.
I created Mum of Two because, after the heartbreaking loss of my newborn, I couldn’t find a book that truly helped me cope. This is my personal story of navigating loss, grief, and ultimately, rediscovering my strength and courage.
Lauren added that she has put on a ‘brave face’ each day for Larose.
Being a single mom to Larose and co-parenting with her ex, Charlie, is a balance. He’s involved and a good father, but ultimately, she handles the majority of the childcare responsibilities.
I really just want a peaceful life, and I’m not sure when or how that will happen. I want my daughter to have a wonderful childhood, and I feel responsible for making that happen. I want to give her all the things I didn’t have growing up.
I understand my mother’s motivations, and I know she wouldn’t want me to go through hardship. Things were complicated then, but I don’t want Larose to feel that same pain – the longing for a parent, or the sadness of being apart. That’s why I try to maintain a relationship with both parents, even if we don’t always handle things perfectly. I realize not everyone will understand my approach.
