Laura Woods has spoken openly about experiencing a heart-wrenching miscarriage and shared how her son, Leo, provided solace during this difficult time.
The 37-year-old sports presenter gave birth to her first child with her 29-year-old fiancé Collard from Love Island, in January.
Laura had a miscarriage after being 11 weeks pregnant, but a month later, she became pregnant once more. With great joy, the couple welcomed their newborn son named Leo into their family.
In a recent episode of Celebrity SAS, Adam emotionally broke down while remembering their past ordeal – specifically, the heartbreaking experience of a miscarriage. More recently, Laura opened up about the challenging periods the couple endured together.
On Instagram, Laura posted a video of Adam from the show on a Wednesday. In her caption, she expressed: “Last year was full of difficult moments, yet this remarkable, kind-hearted individual has supported me through each one. I am immensely proud to witness him on this journey.
In a different discussion, she shared that despite the perplexing emotions of grief over the loss of her baby, her child Leo has provided solace for her.

When she looks at Leo, she often finds herself contemplating about a child we will never get to know, all while understanding that Leo wouldn’t exist if that event hadn’t taken place.
Experiencing great bewilderment here. A compassionate nurse at the hospital once told me that this tiny being might not be destined for our world, and the current situation serves as a protective measure for me.
Indeed, finding this peace has brought me immense solace, and I believe it could be helpful to those who have gone through a similar experience – miscarriage. So, I wanted to extend this comfort to you, my readers, with all the warmth in my heart.
Adam recently broke down into tears as he spoke about Laura’s miscarriage on Celeb SAS.
In 2023, Adam and Laura started dating following his direct message about a humorous meme she posted on her Instagram Story. Unfortunately, just a short while later, the couple endured a heart-wrenching loss during a miscarriage, when Laura was 11 weeks pregnant.
During his stint on Channel 4’s reality show, Adam broke down in tears as he courageously shared about some challenging months he had experienced personally.
An emotional Adam told Special Forces he was diagnosed with depression following the sad loss.
Reflecting back, he remarked, “One of us was with my companion…and unfortunately, we almost reached our goal for the second time but didn’t quite make it and couldn’t share the news with everyone.

As Adam found it difficult to articulate himself, the Special Forces team understood that he was referring to a miscarriage.
He added: ‘What struck me was my enthusiasm for it, something I hadn’t anticipated feeling.’
In my perspective, when it was abruptly taken from her, it felt as though a massive weight had come crashing down upon us. Tenfold, the loss seemed to plunge us into an even deeper abyss.
It appears we hit a rough spot, to put it mildly. In her presence, I tried to maintain composure, feigning calmness, while internally, I was quite unsettled.
Later, Adam found himself tearing up once more when the new recruits were tasked with writing fictitious “farewell letters” to their dear ones.
Expressing his deep feelings to Laura, he shared: “The past few months have been extremely challenging for me, but nothing compared to what you’ve endured.
‘We lost a baby recently.’
He then started to sob, as his upset co-stars tried to comfort him.

Adam mentioned, “I wish for an extra night so I could enfold you in the world’s largest hug. My love for you remains constant, Adam.
Speaking directly to you all, let me confess that I’m usually quite guarded, but Laura has been my key to unlocking parts of myself I never knew existed.
Following the broadcast of the show, Adam expressed his gratitude on his Instagram account for the heartfelt messages of encouragement regarding his honest confession during the program.
Adam mentioned a post from a year ago that delved into his past challenges, yet failed to provide details about the circumstances surrounding it.
‘Looking back on 2024, it was my toughest year. Over the past few days, I’ve come across many optimistic posts about 2024… but if you’re finding things tough at the moment, know that Instagram often shows only the best moments, and you are not alone in your struggles.’
