Laura Whitmore lands next movie role in unique thriller
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Laura Whitmore joining forces with Sir Derek Jacobi in an interactive thriller titled “Hello Stranger” has me absolutely thrilled! The prospect of being immersed in a unique narrative where my decisions could potentially save or doom a character played by such a talented actress is beyond exciting.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve snagged my next movie part, starring opposite the legendary Sir Derek Jacobi, who was once the Doctor on Doctor Who! It’s a captivating thriller with an unusual twist. Can’t wait to dive in!
Previously known as the host of “Love Island,” it has been announced that this individual will be sharing screen time with Jacobi in a movie called “Hello Stranger,” written and directed by Paul Raschid. (Source: Deadline)
Also part of the cast are Yasmin Finney from Heartstopper, Kulvinder Ghir known for Goodness Gracious Me, along with George Blagden, Danny Griffin, and Christina Wolfe.
Greetings! I’d like to share with you the captivating narrative of my personal favorite character, Cam – a self-proclaimed techno-recluse who orchestrates his existence within the confines of a technologically advanced smart home.
In the summary, it’s mentioned that ‘Cam communicates with people he doesn’t know on the site Hello Stranger, which is a random video chatting service.’ Later, he comes across a person wearing a mask and changing their voice. This leaves Cam feeling disturbed, so he ends the call. However, to his surprise, he finds out that this stranger has hacked his smart-home and locked him inside as a result.
In simpler terms, the unknown individual informs Cam that he needs to triumph in three consecutive game rounds. The audience will need to choose actions and participate in these games to keep Cam alive. However, a single incorrect decision might result in a fatal outcome for Cam.
Elsewhere, Whitmore recently opened up about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing with Giovanni Pernice, accusing BBC bosses of “gaslighting” her.
Back in 2016, while I was deep into the 14th season of that game show, I voiced my concerns to those in charge. (This sentence is paraphrased from the original to make it more conversational and first-person perspective as a gamer.)
When asked if she felt heard at that moment, Whitmore replied by suggesting that she might have been made to believe it was normal, or even manipulated, which is often referred to as gaslighting.
She lamented that the situation often arises with a blaming tone, as it usually does. Speaking up for the first time about any issue is never easy, she added. However, she emphasized that we are becoming more vocal now, and we are holding others accountable for their actions.
It was confirmed by the BBC that Pernice will not feature in this year’s 22nd season of Strictly Come Dancing.
