As an ardent fan of Laura Adlington, I find her raw honesty and courage truly inspiring. Her journey, much like a rollercoaster ride, ebbs and flows with ups and downs – and that’s what makes it real.

She’s an avid body positivity advocate who often spreads the importance of self-confidence.

Additionally, Laura Adlington experiences times when she grapples with self-doubt and battles challenges related to her perception of her physical appearance.

On a recent Wednesday, the celebrity from The Great British Bake Off, aged 35, openly confessed that she has been finding it tough to accept her appearance over the past few weeks.

In a candid and truthful Instagram post, Laura, who frequently mentions being a size 26, shared her thoughts openly.

I’ve been struggling to keep my past compulsive eating habits at bay, and today I realized that they’ve once again taken over my life. Put simply, I can no longer manage my food intake.

Instead of always boasting about feeling like she’s floating on clouds due to her weight, Laura understands the significance of admitting both her high points and low points – a mix of feelings she’s experienced lately.

She wrote: ‘I’m really struggling with my body image at the moment, for the first time in a while.

Recently, I’ve reached a point where I’ve learned to accept myself fully. However, over the past few weeks, I’ve found myself struggling oddly with an unquenchable hunger, and it feels like I’ve lost control over my eating habits. In fact, I’ve been bingeing again, something I haven’t done in a long time.

Over the past few nights, I’ve often ended up in bed with a sense of dislike for myself, saying ‘I can’t stand myself’. However, I’m aware that what would be beneficial is to get out and engage in some physical activity and eat healthier. But truthfully, it just seems too challenging.

She explained, “I’m choosing to disclose this information because I believe in transparency and want to depict the genuine highs and lows of real-life experiences rather than presenting an idealized, flawless image.

Additionally, I believe emphasizing that the journey towards self-acceptance and body neutrality is not a straight path is crucial…

In separate post, Laura wrote down a list of things she is trying to do to ‘get through this blip’.

She wrote: ‘I am more than my bad days, I am more than my body, the way I look is the least interesting thing about me, this too shall pass. If you’re struggling too, have a big virtual hug from me.’

Previously, Laura confessed on her self-love podcast, Embrace Yourself, that she sometimes concerns herself with potential health issues related to her weight as she grows older.

However, she pondered: ‘Many may assume that being body positive equates to promoting obesity, but in truth, it’s simply about existing without judgment.’

In relation to her repeated attempts at different diets, she stated: “I’ve given every diet a shot multiple times, tried various methods, but the result is always the same – I regain the weight and even more than before, leaving me feeling worse.

I’ve reached a stage where I believe traditional dieting isn’t effective for me. I’m not inclined towards bariatric surgery, so I’m left with the choice of trying to live a healthier lifestyle and embracing myself as I am, without berating myself. I aim to make the most out of life instead.
