Latest Euphoria update proves again Euphoria season 3 shouldn’t happen
As a devoted fan who has been through the emotional rollercoaster that is Euphoria, I can confidently say that Sam Levinson should take a step back and let this magnificent masterpiece rest. We don’t need a season 3! It’s like asking a wounded bird to fly again after it’s already spread its wings wide.
It’s time for Sam Levinson to abandon the idea of creating Euphoria season 3, as fans have made it clear they’re not interested. The most recent season 3 news only strengthens this stance.
The second installment of “Euphoria” ended approximately two years ago, on February 27, 2022. Soon, it will be three years since then. Patience is something that “Euphoria” fans have grown accustomed to, considering the similar gap between the first and second seasons. However, there are more reasons than just a prolonged wait for us not to eagerly anticipate a third season.
Lately, Storm Reid announced that she won’t reprise her role as Gia Bennett in season 3. Although Gia may not have been the central character, it seems crucial to me that she appears in season 3 since she is Rue’s (Zendaya) sister. In the story, Goa plays a significant part in Rue’s life and aids her in her healing journey. During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes at the Governors Awards, Reid mentioned her enthusiasm for the upcoming season but also revealed that Gia won’t be back for season 3.
Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat in the first two seasons, will not be returning, and this was expected given the rumors about creative differences between her and show creator Damon Lindelof. However, these disagreements were neither confirmed nor denied officially. Nevertheless, fan speculation resurfaced with Ferreira’s departure from the series. Prior to her exit, delays in production and Lindelof’s decision to work on The Idol (one of the worst shows of 2023) may have contributed to the dwindling interest of viewers, especially following the passing of Angus Cloud.
As a devoted viewer of Euphoria, it’s clear that while Zendaya’s Rue is the main character, Fez, played by Angus Cloud, truly steals the show for me. Frankly, I can’t imagine continuing this series without him. Of course, we have our questions: Will Rue manage to stay clean? Will she reconcile with Jules (Hunter Schafer)? But above all, will Rue escape the consequences of her actions regarding the suitcase full of drugs? And let’s not forget that cliffhanger about the shooting!
Excitingly, I’m sharing that there seems to be a glimmer of hope for “Euphoria” season 3! Word on the street is that production will kick off in January 2025. The timeline remains uncertain, but we might expect it by the end of 2025 or perhaps even later. As soon as I gather more info, I’ll be sure to update this post! Here’s hoping it materializes, though secretly praying it doesn’t! #FingersCrossedNotReally #EuphoriaSeason3
