Larry Lamb’s Surprising New Role After Gavin and Stacey Finale Revealed!
Larry Lamb’s latest role has been revealed following the final episode of Gavin and Stacey.
17 long years have passed since the world was first introduced to the captivating character of Mick Shipman, played by this timeless actor, and I, as a dedicated fan, couldn’t contain my excitement when he reprised his role for the heartwarming Christmas special. It felt like coming home on Christmas Day, wrapping up another chapter in the incredible BBC series that has been etched in my heart all these years.
He’s taking on an entirely new acting gig, playing a weather reporter in a pub garden, in the latest commercials for Greene King pubs.
Larry is set to share “The Sipping Forecast,” a specially tailored weather report aimed at assisting bettors in navigating the variable spring weather patterns.
In April, he plans to provide unique announcements to make sure the British public is ready for outdoor pub seasons, regardless of whether it’s sunny, windy, or raining.
As I step into the limelight for my latest project, you’ll find me sporting a vibrant Hawaiian shirt first, setting the stage for our upcoming campaign. Later on, you might catch me donning a stylish green raincoat as the shoot progresses in unexpected weather conditions.

100,000 complimentary pints are being offered by Greene King Pubs under their “When It Rains, We Pour” program.
Between the 3rd and 10th of April, the first raindrops are expected to trigger the largest serving of free pints in the UK. This means that patrons of pubs will be able to enjoy their drinks complimentary of this event.
Initially airing in 2007 following its creation by James Corden and Ruth Jones, the series Gavin and Stacey culminated with longtime on-again, off-again couple Smithy and Nessa publicly professing their love and eventually getting married, albeit after encountering some bumps in the road.
In the 2019 Christmas Special, viewers were eager to find out if Smithy would accept Nessa’s proposal. However, when a five-year time leap occurred, it was shown that they had planned to get married, but things weren’t quite as straightforward as they appeared.
It emerged that Smithy had actually become engaged to his girlfriend Sonia, who didn’t win over the Shipman/West family during their encounter in the last holiday episode. The fact that actress Laura Aikman was coming back to the series was kept under wraps as a tightly-held secret.
Audience members were additionally delighted by the unexpected appearance of Sheridan Smith reprising her role as Rudi, Smithy’s sister, and Pam Ferris bringing back her character as his mother, Cath.
On Smithy’s grand day, I found myself realizing that Nessa was my heart’s ultimate treasure. So, I bravely made the decision to call off our wedding.
17 years in the making, I hopped aboard my vehicle with my family, hastily heading towards Southampton, where Nessa was readying her ship to set sail. In a moment that felt like destiny, I confessed my deep affection for her and humbly requested she reconsider her departure.

As the unwaveringly devoted admirer that I am, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the tale of Nessa and Smithy. Despite her steadfast assertion that she wouldn’t propose to him once more, he courageously revisited an old promise from half a decade past. In a heart-stopping moment, he knelt before her, asking for her hand in marriage. A truly romantic turn of events!
Later, the scene switched to Smithy and Nessa finally exchanging their heartfelt vows during a cozy ceremony in Barry. The television series concluded poignantly with a montage of the family celebrating the momentous occasion at The Dolphin pub, culminating in them all posing together for a cherished family photo.
On Christmas Day, the episode attracted an impressive 12.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched television program of the day.
The finale of the 17-year-old series was praised as ‘flawless’ by viewers, many of whom cried as they watched it for the first time. (Aimed at keeping the original sentiment while making the sentence shorter and easier to understand)
