Larry Emdur: AVO issued to protect Gold Logie winning Channel Seven star

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that this news about Larry Emdur, the Gold Logie award winner, is quite surprising, to put it mildly. It seems that even after four successful decades on the screen and winning the top award, life still manages to throw us curveballs. The fact that just days after his major victory, an AVO was taken out to protect him speaks volumes about the unpredictability of our world.

The Gold Logie-winning personality, Larry Emdur, recently obtained a Protection Order (AVO) only a few days following his triumph at the prestigious award ceremony.

The order has been taken out by NSW Police on behalf of Emdur against Victorian man Rodney Pearce.

As a lifestyle and safety advisor, I found myself receiving an unexpected call from NSW Police at approximately 11:15 am on August 22nd. The location was Network Seven’s office in Eveleigh, situated on Central Avenue in Sydney. It appears that the situation unfolded when someone, namely Mr. Pearce, attempted to enter the building unlawfully.

In a statement, NSW Police reported that officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command went to speak with a 52-year-old individual who had previously been escorted out of the building by security personnel.

Initially, Mr. Pearce was apprehended, subsequently examined at a hospital, and later moved to the Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with trespass and possession of a prohibited drug.

In the Downing Centre Local Court, I found myself standing before the judge, who graciously granted me conditional release. Mark your calendars for September 5th, as that’s when I’m expected to reappear again.

He must avoid going onto Central Avenue, the neighborhood of Haymarket, or getting closer than 200 meters to Channel 7.

The 52-year-old has also been ordered to report to Redfern Police Station daily.

Court records show the AVO in protection of Emdur is set to be mentioned in court on September 16.

The arrest came just days after Emdur took the top gong at the 2024 Logies on August 18.

Leading up to the awards ceremony, Emdur shared with several media outlets about his commitment to get a tattoo if he won, which was a result of his initial doubts about winning from his very first Logie nomination.

After four decades on the screen, the television personality took home the top award.

However, early Monday morning, tattoo artist Zach from Bondi Ink was eagerly waiting for the Live TV Logie Award recipient at his studio, the same place where he had done a tattoo on air.

Co-host Kylie Gilies chuckled in agreement as Emdur got a tattoo, saying to the crowd: “He’s really quivering”.

Network Seven did not comment as the matter is before the court.
