Lara Flynn Boyle, 55, shows off her famously svelte frame during first public outing in two years

In an uncommon appearance, actress Lara Flynn Boyle, known for her slender frame, was recently seen taking her pet for a walk around her neighborhood in Los Angeles, according to pictures published by DailyMail.com.

55-year-old actress from the show Twin Peaks, who usually prefers a quiet life nowadays, was spotted out and about on a leisurely walk and smoking break in her Bel-Air community last Thursday.

The secluded actress from Hollywood was spotted without makeup during a recent outing, making it her first public appearance in close to two years.

Despite her time out of the limelight, she seems to be thriving; her youthful appearance remains intact, and she continues to flaunt her slender figure, which is renowned.

As an overly enthusiastic admirer, I couldn’t help but notice how effortlessly cool Boyle appeared in his gray sweatpants and sandals on that chilly Los Angeles morning. He kept himself warm under a white baseball cap and a trendy green light puffer jacket, radiating an aura of relaxed sophistication.

At a certain moment, Lara paused her walk to converse with an attractive man living nearby. She shook his hand warmly, exchanged light-hearted remarks, and indicated the location of her residence to him.

Even after being married to Donald Ray Thomas for almost two decades, I couldn’t resist the allure of a spontaneous outdoor adventure with my furry companion by my side.

Boyle gained recognition from appearing in the beloved television series Twin Peaks, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in April. Since then, she has taken on roles in numerous productions such as Wayne’s World, Happiness, and Men In Black II.

For a period of seven years, ending in 2004, she intermittently dated Jack Nicholson, but since 2006, she’s been wedded to her second husband, whom she affectionately refers to as ‘my urban cowboy’.

Over the past few years, I’ve taken a step back from the spotlight, but that all changed last summer when I graced the screen once more in a four-year absence. The role was in the comedy-drama “Mother, Couch,” where I shared the limelight with esteemed actors like Ewan McGregor, F. Murray Abraham, and Lake Bell.

At some point, she found herself frequently featured in news headlines due to her drinking behavior. However, in a more recent conversation, she disclosed that she’s been abstaining from alcohol since the year 2019.

‘Those disco boots, they’ve had their time,’ she told People magazine in July 2024. 

In the year 2018, pictures emerged on DailyMail.com showing Lara sipping from a Johnnie Walker bottle while seated in her vehicle within a parking lot in Westwood, without any confirmation if she was driving at the time.

Boyle did not comment on whether those photos caused her to want to stop drinking.

But she did allow: ‘Some people are allergic to it; some people are un-allergic to it.’

In the late 90s and early 2000s, Boyle’s romantic relationship with Nicholson, which frequently made headlines as it went through periods of being on and off, was also a topic of widespread media interest.

Hollywood icon Nicholson, now 88, is 33 years her senior. The pair sparked up a romance in 1999. 

In 2004, the pair decided to end their relationship, but their latest known photo together was taken in 2006 – approximately seven months prior to when she began dating her present spouse.

In that very same conversation, I found myself reflecting on an influential figure from my past, someone I once shared a significant portion of my journey with.

In contemplation, the actress expressed her perspective by stating that the seven years they spent together were filled with wonderful moments.

Originally from Davenport, Iowa, the individual (who got married to a Texas real estate investor named Thomas in 2006) went on to express that it has been seven years full of joy for them.

Despite no longer socializing with the three-time Academy Award winner, Boyle confirmed to People that they maintain their connection.

Speaking on the longevity of her marriage, she attributed it to ‘truthfulness, wisdom, life experiences, and mutual respect.’

Flynn additionally refuted allegations suggesting she encountered Nicholson during an outing with her former boyfriend, David Spade, at that time.

In 2015, the former member of Saturday Night Live claimed that Nicholson propositioned Lara Flynn Boyle to me, in full view, as we were all sharing a joint somewhere.

Three decades later, Boyle emphatically shut down the story as she insisted that ‘never happened.’ 

‘I think certain people like to embellish that for publicity,’ she said. 

Following her relationship with Nicholson, Boyle said she never dated another movie star. 

‘I left with a bang when it came to actors,’ she mused. 

Previously this year, Lorraine Nicholson shared that her father, Nicholson, had a relationship with Boyle while she was still young.

Lorraine, aged 35, who has actress and model Rebecca Broussard, 62, as her mother, expressed to Vanity Fair in January that Boyle served as her mentor and affectionately referred to her as the ‘Mary Poppins of Mulholland Drive’.
