Lana Del Rey fans lash out at 'disgusting' ticket prices on Ticketmaster - as pre-sale for newly announced UK tour goes live

As a long-time admirer of Lana Del Rey’s music and enigmatic persona, I can’t help but feel both awe and nostalgia when reading about her latest endeavors. From her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise in the music industry, Lana’s journey has been nothing short of captivating.

Fans of Lana Del Rey are enraged, labeling the cost of her upcoming concert tickets as “unacceptable” or “exorbitant.

As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! On Monday, the legendary video game composer, at the peak of her creativity, unveiled a monumental tour plan for 2025, gracing the stages of UK and Ireland’s stadiums. The pièce de résistance? None other than London’s iconic Wembley Stadium on July 3! This grand concert series marks her most significant solo performance across the Atlantic yet. I can barely wait!

Initially, fans were thrilled about the news, but their excitement turned into shock when they discovered that ticket prices, according to Ticketmaster, would start at £80 and could reach as high as £400.

Fans on Twitter expressed outrage, labeling the prices as unjustifiably high, stating their reluctance to spend that much money.

The Ticketmaster notification stated that the tour had pre-set ticket prices ranging from £80.70 to £405 (which includes fees), and an additional charge of £2.75 per order.

Fans expressed their dismay by saying: “The cost of Lana Del Rey tickets is outrageous”; or “I’ve longed to watch Lana Del Rey perform for ages, but the ticket prices are unbelievably high, at £167 for a seat?

Although I’d be thrilled to attend a Lana Del Rey concert, the ticket prices are simply too high for me and I can’t in good conscience ask my casual fan friends to spend that much either. It’s hard to believe that a stadium concert would start at £80 – that price seems utterly unreasonable.

Recently, concert ticket costs have significantly increased, leading to fan discontent. It’s hardly unexpected given that one has to shell out £100 for a distant view or £116 for a limited perspective seat, which is quite a high demand, even for an artist as renowned as Lana Del Rey.

If the ticket prices mentioned in these posts regarding the Lana Del Rey pre-sale at TicketmasterUK (apparently £170 for standard standing tickets) are accurate, it seems extremely excessive.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel frustrated and disheartened by how major-label artists and ticket providers seem to take advantage of us. I wish to express my concerns in the most respectful manner possible: Madam, it appears we may have differing views regarding fairness in the ticketing process, and I humbly request a reconsideration for fans like myself.

‘Oh Ticketmaster and Lana Del Rey you are cheeky with those prices’; ‘don’t particularly care for Lana Del Rey but those ticket prices are ridiculous’;

‘Lana Del Rey, are you having a laugh with your ticket prices ma’am?!’

It is unclear whether Lana has chosen to use dynamic ticket pricing.

Previously, Ticketmaster executives faced criticism once more due to their high earnings from a contentious ticketing process during the sale of Oasis concert tickets earlier this year.

In dynamic pricing, businesses set the cost of a product based on the perceived worth or value a customer assigns to it. This means that if a customer is willing to pay more, the product’s value in their eyes is higher, which can cause them to pay more for it.

“By doing this, companies can determine at what price point customers are ready to purchase the product.

It’s uncertain if Lana Del Rey, alongside musicians like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, The Cure, and Tom Grennan, has followed suit by not implementing dynamic pricing for their concert tickets, as these artists have chosen to avoid this practice.

Various artists such as Pearl Jam, Neil Young, and The Cure’s Robert Smith have spoken out against the ticketing system, with Robert Smith expressing his dismay to fans about Ticketmaster charges, labeling dynamic pricing as a “greedy scheme.

TopMob have contacted Lana’s representatives for comment.

Lana begins her matches at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on the 23rd of June. Subsequently, she will play at Glasgow’s Hampden Park on the 26th, followed by Liverpool FC’s home ground, Anfield Stadium, on the 28th, and Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on the 30th of June.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that tickets will become available for purchase starting from 10am this coming Friday, November 29th, exclusively via Live Nation. And here’s a pro tip: If you want to secure your spot early, be sure to sign up for the presale ballot by Thursday, November 28th. Good luck and see you there!

Currently, the pre-sale for the Artist’s work is happening on Wednesday, November 27. Users on Twitter seem to have discovered the ticket prices.

2024 saw the artist who became famous with the song ‘Born To Die’ shine brightly. She graced the stages of Coachella in the United States, Reading and Leeds in the UK, as well as Rock en Seine and her inaugural stadium performance at Fenway Park, Boston, USA.

Meanwhile, fans are awaiting a release date for Lana’s upcoming 10th studio album Lasso.

The singer of “The Cinnamon Girl” song is recognized for her melancholic lyrics, but musically, the upcoming album may not represent a drastic shift away from her Americana style, as suggested by hints she has given; however, it seems that the lyrical themes won’t be as grim as one might expect.

Recently, she shared with Vogue that her albums generally have elements of Americana, except for ones like ‘Honeymoon’, which have a jazzy feel. Thus, she doesn’t anticipate a major shift in the next album.

Instead of being heavily laden with lyrics, the composition may become slightly more sparse, and it could lean towards a traditional country, American, or Southern Gothic style. Notably, several of my other songs already exhibit this type of genre.

Lana has teamed up with her frequent partner, Jack Antonoff, as well as renowned country songwriter Luke Laird, for the creation of these latest songs.

Back at Billboard’s pre-Grammy bash in sunny LA earlier this year, she playfully hinted: “In case you haven’t noticed from our prize recipients and our lineup of artists, it’s clear that the music industry is embracing country tunes. I’m all about it! It’s not just a trend; it’s a movement happening right now. Country music, here we come!

Over the past four years, Jack has traveled from Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, to be with me here.

She shared in an Instagram post that Jack (Antonoff) is currently in the city, and she plans to watch him create some small tunes. She’s had a truly wonderful week working alongside songwriter and producer Luke Laird.

2023 saw the release of the latest studio album from the productive artist, titled “Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard?

Lana recently teamed up with former Migos star Quavo on the track Tough.

After the tour announcement, fans of Lana rushed to social media to express their excitement.

They wrote on X: ‘Lana Del Rey UKtour. I will be there no matter what!!’

‘If I don’t get lana uk tour tickets you’ll never hear from me again.’

‘LANA DEL REY UK TOUR!!??? OMGG.’

‘Lana del rey doing a uk stadium tour I NEEED to be there.’

Wow, it seems Lana Del Rey is heading to Cardiff for a stadium tour! That’s quite unexpected, I didn’t have that on my bingo card! Looks like next year is shaping up nicely already.

‘LANA UK TOUR LETS GOOOOOOO.’

Following Lana’s open discussion about her ideal partner and romantic relationships in an honest interview, which took place prior to her unexpected marriage to Jeremy Dufrene.

In September, the artist known as “The Honeymoon Singer” married a tour guide who specializes in alligators, Jeremy, only a few weeks after publicly revealing their relationship. Prior to their wedding, she expressed her wish to marry someone who values love deeply and believes it is sufficient, hinting at her upcoming vows.

The star shared her wish for a lover who seeks a straightforward, genuine affection and disclosed her intentions to embark on starting a family.

In her words, ‘The majority of individuals I’ve encountered desired Hollywood to play a significant role in our trio. However, when I tie the knot, it will be with someone who, like myself, values love above all else and considers it sufficient.’

In simpler terms, we’re two compatible individuals who can support each other emotionally, romantically, or as friends. If the opportunity arises, we might decide to start a family together, but if not, our bond will still be strong and fulfilling.

‘I want it to be simple, I need to be with someone who wants to plan to stay home with me. Love is to be saved and that’s magic.’

‘I want my whole life, and everything I sing, to be the positive result of something. I believe in magic because, to me, it means being optimistic, having hope, and being able to share it.’

Lana recently broke her silence following her whirlwind wedding.

She said: ‘Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing. And we’re very happy.’
