Lana Del Rey breaks silence on marriage to alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene

Lana Del Rey has made her first official statement about her whirlwind marriage to Jeremy Dufrene.

On Thursday evening at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards, the 39-year-old musician shared with a reporter on the red carpet that she and her 49-year-old alligator swamp tour guide partner are content and happy together.

With a soft, wistful grin, she presented the short speech following her entrance in a multi-layered, brilliant-white, glittering Valentino dress and a luxurious fur shawl to match.

Fans were taken aback when it was announced on September 26 that Lana Del Rey had married a guide based in Louisiana.

Previously, the singer had spoken up for the first time regarding their relationship, in a comment she made on a fan’s Instagram post.

At LanaBoards, she posted, ‘Regrettably, a local pair residing in Houma persistently fly drones towards our windows each day and monitor our movements using a tracker.’

The artist, originally named Elizabeth Grant, went on to say, ‘If Sara Michelle Champagne and Kruesch (a well-known New Orleans photographer) could refrain from constantly changing their vehicles near our family and cease stalking us in isolated areas of the country, as well as not altering images to make it seem like I’m wearing a pearl instead of my wedding ring – then I believe we would feel much more secure.’

She added: ‘All that being said, Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing. And we’re very happy.’

In the heart of Des Allemands, Louisiana, I had the immense joy of exchanging vows with my beloved partner, only a month after our relationship became public knowledge. Remarkably, this was five years since we first crossed paths.

Following the ceremony, Jeremy’s ex-fiancée revealed she was blindsided by his and Lana’s wedding.

The next morning, she was shown photographs that revealed she’d found out he’d already walked down the aisle.

12-year fiancée of Dufrene, Kelli Welsh, expressed shock to DailyMail.com about the swiftness with which they exchanged their wedding vows in October 2023, having been previously surprised by their rapid decision.

She revealed that she was utterly surprised since they had been together for twelve years, but he got married just a month later.

She stated: “However, I’m pleased for him. He’s not only a diligent, masculine individual but also very protective. He had grown accustomed to his bayou lifestyle and spending time in the swamp. This experience seems fitting for someone who deserves such a blessing.

As teenagers, Welsh and Dufrene began their romantic relationship when she was sixteen and he was nineteen. However, the relationship didn’t last long, ending after just one year.

In the course of my life journey, I was blessed to tie the knot with my first beloved, Gina. Together, we’ve been fortunate enough to raise three wonderful offspring – two energetic sons and a compassionate daughter who are the joy of our lives.

Within a year of the marriage ending, he rekindled with Welsh.
