Laila Rouass shared ‘soul-destroying’ struggles with fiancé Ronnie O’Sullivan as he battled his ‘demons’ in resurfaced clip – months before the couple’s split after 12 years together

In the recently-released documentary from last November, I had the privilege of sitting down for a chat with Ronnie, following his tough 6-4 loss against Neil Robertson at the Masters tournament held in 2022.
She expressed: “I wish for you to act in ways that bring happiness your way, neither am I instructing you to halt nor continue. Rest assured, I’d never put you in such a predicament.
I have no issues with it. To me, it’s primarily about the art of management. It seems there’s an abundance of personal reflection and a significant amount of personal thought time involved.
However, Ronnie interjected, expressing his newfound comfort: “I must admit, I feel more at ease with it now than I ever have before.
If I didn’t halt earlier when I felt extremely uneasy, what makes me think I should cease now that I am more at ease with it? It seems like I’ve conquered my fears to some extent.
Later on, Laila remarked: “It seems like that’s reflecting your current state. If viewed from a romantic perspective. However, let’s be honest, it’s tough to observe someone enduring such emotional turmoil.
At that moment, curiosity arises. “What on earth is he up to? Is there some reason he’s subjecting himself to this?” is a common thought.

For approximately eight months, the pair momentarily separated following a ten-year relationship. However, they reunited since some sources speculate that this recent separation could potentially be temporary, similar to the brief interruption in 2022.
After a few years apart, Ronnie and Laila have fully embraced each other once more, giving their relationship another chance.
He had been regularly sharing pictures of them at home and expressing affectionate sentiments during special events online, but it seems like this practice has ceased altogether now.
Despite their best efforts, they simply couldn’t manage to keep things going. They share a deep affection for each other, but their paths have diverged and they’ve realized that their relationship has come to an end.
During an appearance on This Morning, the actress, known for roles in shows like Holby City, Footballer’s Wives, and EastEnders, was noticeably ring-less.
She’s been sporting that ring since 2013, which O’Sullivan presented to her a year following their relationship’s inception.
In 2011, their bond deepened when Ronnie invited Laila over to see his newly-listed home, which was guided by his father, Ronnie O’Sullivan Senior.
In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself on a date with Ronnie, all thanks to a series of fortunate coincidences. His father, a mutual acquaintance, happened to mention our encounter to him. He then contacted the real estate agent, who happens to be my friend, and requested a date through her. Quite serendipitous, wouldn’t you agree?
Upon learning that he’s a snooker player, my response was, ‘Oh, so that’s his profession. I didn’t know him because I have no interest in sports whatsoever. However, Ronnie O’Sullivan has managed to pique my curiosity about snooker.’
It was then their whirlwind romance began and they became engaged in the following year.
Regarding their prolonged engagement, Laila shared with The Mirror in 2019: “I need to psych myself up for a wedding. For now, we’ve postponed it and are savoring our moments together, so there’s no immediate need to hurry.
But the couple split up after a decade together with Laila making the announcement to shocked fans.
In February 2022, she posted on Instagram that after almost a decade filled with love and cherished moments, Ronnie and I have decided to go our separate ways. Wishing everyone peace and love. Laila X.
The split didn’t persist for too long; by April, Laila was seen donning her engagement ring yet again.
By the month of May, following a month brimming with whispers and conjecture, they officially announced their reunion, subsequently embarking on a vacation together.
The actress said last year that open communication brought them back together after their split.
We managed to return, figuring out the path along the way. When I initially shared the news, it had been nearly eight months since we last were united.
Communicating openly, especially about our feelings and desires, is often underestimated. As we grow older, expressing ourselves clearly becomes significantly simpler if we take the time to share our thoughts directly.
After losing to He Guoqiang from China on Tuesday, O’Sullivan acknowledged that the end of his snooker career may be near.
He acknowledged that time is running short and admitted his performance isn’t up to the mark. However, instead of dwelling on it, he’s chosen to accept the situation, finding peace in this acceptance, he explained.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself in a bit of a predicament. My coordination seems to be lacking lately, and it’s quite humbling when I miss catching balls. It’s become a recurring issue that I can’t seem to shake off, despite my efforts to improve. Regrettably, there doesn’t appear to be a quick fix for this challenge I’m facing.
For nearly half a decade now, I’ve found myself consistently off-target with my shots, but every so often, I manage to reduce those misses slightly, perhaps, and even score a couple of victories here and there.
I couldn’t be less concerned; I’m only present to meet my obligations to my patrons, escape the confines of home, and explore new places.
