Dearest gentle reader, Lady Whistledown — voiced by Julie Andrews — is back.
As a total “Bridgerton” fan, I was so excited to see the trailer for Season 4 dropped by Netflix yesterday! Lady Whistledown, as always, hinted she’s got all the juicy gossip. And the best part? We won’t have to wait too long – the new season is coming in two parts, with the first batch of episodes hitting Netflix on January 29th, and the rest on February 26th. I’ve already marked my calendar!
The new season, with eight episodes, will center on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his developing love story. Benedict, the second oldest Bridgerton brother, has always avoided commitment and marriage, but a brief encounter with an intriguing masked woman could change his mind, according to the trailer.

Jess Brownell, the creator of “Bridgerton,” is talking about what to expect in Season 3, including a discussion she had with Shonda Rhimes about Colin’s inexperience, what happens to Julie Andrews’ voiceover work, and how the show’s look will evolve in Season 4.

As the seasons change, life inevitably brings both good times and bad, Lady Whistledown observes in a new preview. The question is, will we meet these challenges? Only time – and this writer – will reveal the answer.
Benedict doesn’t realize it yet, but the mysterious woman he’s been seeing – known as the Lady in Silver – is actually Sophie Baek (played by Yerin Ha). Netflix’s blog, Tudum, reveals that the brief meeting shown in the trailer is the first time Benedict and the Lady in Silver encounter each other, and it happens at Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade ball.
The Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’ features the love story of Benedict and Sophie, which is inspired by the third book in Julia Quinn’s series, ‘An Offer From a Gentleman.’ Sophie’s stepmother, played by Katie Leung, prioritizes finding husbands for her two daughters (Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei) and pays little attention to what Sophie is doing.

Historians are providing context for Shonda Rhimes’ steamy Netflix series, which explores the world of marriage in 19th-century England and separates historical truth from dramatic license.
According to “Bridgerton” creator Jess Brownell, Benedict’s storyline focuses on him figuring out how to balance fitting into society with staying true to himself.
As a huge fan of the show, I was really intrigued when the creator talked about Benedict’s journey. Apparently, he’s still trying to find his place and learn how to bend the rules – something Tilley Arnold showed him how to do last season. And it sounds like they’re definitely planning to explore his sexuality more in future episodes, which I think is fantastic and adds a really interesting layer to his character.
The short preview for “Bridgerton” Season 4 highlights only Benedict and Sophie’s storyline. Fans hoping for news on Penelope’s writing or what’s happening with Francesca, John, and Michaela will need to be patient for further updates.
