Lady Gaga had fans doing a double take as she unveiled a shocking new look in the City of Lights.
The 39-year-old Academy Award winner was spotted in Paris on Friday evening sporting long, black curly hair – a significant change from her signature platinum blonde look.
Her daring outfit—a pastel green silk suit worn with a black bralette and large sunglasses—immediately caught the attention of both the paparazzi and her fans, creating a lot of excitement.
The Fame hitmaker has been soaking up Paris while continuing her worldwide Mayhem Ball tour.
Having finished the European part of her tour with a show on Saturday, she’s now heading to Australia for several concerts in December.
This big change follows Lady Gaga’s recent discussion of the emotional challenges she faced while filming her Oscar-winning movie, A Star Is Born.

The singer revealed she was taking medication while filming, and shortly after experienced a severe mental health crisis. This highlighted the extreme stress she faced as she became a famous performer.
The hugely successful 2018 film, featuring Bradley Cooper, made Lady Gaga a major movie star. It received excellent reviews, was nominated for eight Academy Awards, and won a Best Original Song Oscar for Gaga and Cooper’s popular song, “Shallow.”
But behind the scenes, Gaga says she was falling apart.
Following the announcement of seven Grammy nominations for her latest album, Mayhem, the singer discussed her experiences with Rolling Stone in its December issue, revealing she was struggling emotionally during the album’s accompanying film shoot.
‘I did A Star Is Born on lithium,’ she frankly admitted.
According to the Mayo Clinic, this medication—often prescribed for bipolar disorder—is used to manage mania, a key symptom of the illness, and to help balance extreme mood swings between feelings of excitement and sadness.
I was so worried when I heard that, right after she finished filming a movie and during her Joanne tour, Lady Gaga went through a really difficult time. She actually described it as a kind of mental breakdown – a ‘psychotic break,’ as she put it. It must have been incredibly tough for her to deal with all of that while also being on tour.

‘There was one day that my sister said to me, “I don’t see my sister anymore,”‘ she recalled.
I ended the tour because I was struggling with my mental health. I actually had to go to the hospital for a day to get help, and I realized I desperately needed to rest and step away from everything. I had completely burned out.
It was a truly frightening experience, and there were moments I doubted I’d recover. I feel incredibly grateful to still be here. It might sound like an overstatement, but we understand the serious risks involved.
Now, Gaga says she’s finally found peace — and love.
The singer says her fiancé, Michael Polansky – a Harvard-educated entrepreneur – has been a major part of her healing process. They first started dating around New Year’s Eve 2019, publicly confirmed their relationship on Instagram in early 2020, and got engaged in April 2024.
She told Rolling Stone that finding love with someone who truly understood and cared for her as a person was incredibly impactful.
But that self-discovery took work.

It’s been on my mind a lot lately – how can you truly be yourself around another person when you haven’t even figured out who ‘yourself’ is in the first place? It’s a really tough question, and I keep wondering how anyone manages it. It feels like you need to understand yourself before you can share that with someone else, but sometimes I feel completely lost when it comes to knowing who I really am.
After years of struggle, Gaga now considers herself ‘a healthy, whole person.’
And in March, she released Mayhem — hailed as one of the greatest albums of her career.
‘It was months and months and months of rediscovering everything that I’d lost,” she explained.
I really believe that’s why it’s named Mayhem – the effort to recover it was completely chaotic.
Now, it appears the couple are focusing on building a family.
She told Rolling Stone that becoming a mother is her biggest dream, and they’re both thrilled about him becoming a father.
Polansky chimed in and teased details about their wedding.
He explained they discuss their future constantly. During short breaks from their busy lives, the idea of getting married comes up frequently, like quickly asking, “Could we get married next weekend?”

We’re not planning a large wedding, but we still want to have fun and celebrate. We feel pretty committed already, so the wedding won’t drastically change our relationship.
Gaga previously opened up about her mental health struggles while promoting Mayhem in March.
I recently shared with The New York Times podcast, ‘The Interview,’ that about five years ago, I experienced a period of psychosis. It was a really difficult time, and I wanted to be open about it.
The singer of ‘Poker Face’ shared that she felt disconnected from reality for a period of time. She explained it significantly impacted her life, but after years of effort, she was able to regain her footing.
The singer explained that constantly creating different characters as Lady Gaga caused her to feel disconnected from reality.
The actress explained she needed to fully become her character and tap into Lady Gaga’s powerful presence, even in her daily life. It was about finding a way to reconcile two seemingly different sides of herself.
I believe I’m generally a kind person, but when I perform, I become very intense, fierce, and strong. I’ve had to learn to balance those two sides of myself and keep them from conflicting with each other, as she put it.
I used to thrive on drama and taking risks, but I’ve changed. Now, I’m actually happy with a calmer, more predictable life. I’ve learned to avoid situations that create unnecessary problems.

Lady Gaga shared that she experienced post-traumatic stress disorder following a sexual assault by a music producer when she was 19 years old. She also highlighted the dangers and lack of protection faced by young artists, particularly women, in the music industry.
‘There are no laws around who can be a producer, and they’re not vetted by anyone,’ she said.
When you’re just 17 and get invited to a recording studio, you’re often vulnerable. You might not know what to expect, and you could be there without any adult supervision besides the people you’re collaborating with.
‘It’s not the safest industry.’
