On Monday, Lady Gaga shared a picture that seemed to show her lying on a car’s hood, with the word “Disease” written on the street, along with various dates, times, and city names.
The artist who’s known for songs like Bad Romance, Born This Way, Just Dance, and Poker Face is set to return to her pop identity after the September launch of her album Harlequin, which drew inspiration from Joker: Folie à Deux.
On this album, you’ll find two fresh tunes alongside popular numbers like “That’s Entertainment,” “That’s Life,” and “Get Happy.
Similar to the movie’s initial box office performance, her debut album on the Billboard 200 charts didn’t do well commercially, making it her least successful full-length release, opening at number 20.
In the movie, Lady Gaga took on the character of Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal in the 2019 film version of Joker within the same franchise.
As a devoted follower, I’ve learned that, contrary to initial expectations of breakeven, Joker: Folie à Deux might face losses ranging from $150 to $200 million, according to recent reports. Studio insiders had previously suggested that the film would manage to break even, but it seems this may not be the case.
According to Box Office Mojo, the Warner Bros. movie has earned a total of $192.2 million globally, with a domestic box office intake of approximately $56.6 million.
In the future, it’s likely that some viewers will view the movie more positively, even though it initially struggled both financially and with critics at its release.
In the last few months, Lady Gaga has achieved notable commercial success, particularly with her collaboration with Bruno Mars on “Die With a Smile.” This song debuted in August and reached the third position on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
2020 saw her releasing the studio album titled “Chromatica”. This album peaked at number one when it was first launched, and among its tracks is the popular duet “Rain on Me” featuring Ariana Grande, which became a chart-topping single.
