Lady Gaga keeps a low profile as she strolls through Paris ahead of the final European date of the Mayhem Ball after revealing she had a ‘psychotic break’

Lady Gaga was seen quietly walking around Paris before her last European concert on the Mayhem Ball tour, following her recent disclosure about experiencing a mental health crisis.

The 39-year-old singer is in Paris preparing for her last concert at the Accor Arena on Saturday. This show marks the end of her European tour before she heads to Australia.

Lady Gaga looked stylish and relaxed on Friday as she was spotted out and about in the city, wearing a large, comfortable black sweatshirt.

I love how she styled this outfit! She went with a black mini-skirt, comfy UGG mules, and those fun sheer knee-high socks – such a cute touch. She finished it off with sunglasses and a bandana for a cool, effortless vibe.

The star was seen carrying her iPad and a takeaway coffee as she made her way into a taxi. 

This follows Lady Gaga’s recent confession about her experience filming the movie A Star Is Born. She revealed she was taking medication during production and suffered a mental health crisis shortly after the film wrapped.

The hugely successful 2018 film, featuring Bradley Cooper, made Lady Gaga a major movie star. It received fantastic reviews, was nominated for eight Academy Awards, and won an Oscar for Best Original Song thanks to her and Cooper’s popular song, “Shallow.”

But behind the scenes, Gaga said she was falling apart. 

Following the announcement of her seven Grammy nominations for her latest album, Mayhem, the singer shared with Rolling Stone magazine in their December issue that she was struggling emotionally during the making of the album’s accompanying film.

‘I did A Star Is Born on lithium,’ she frankly admitted.

According to the Mayo Clinic, this medication—often prescribed for bipolar disorder—is used to manage mania, a key symptom of the illness, and to help balance extreme mood swings between feelings of intense excitement and deep sadness.

Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for Cooper. 

Shortly after filming wrapped up and during her Joanne tour, Lady Gaga experienced a severe mental health crisis, which she described as a ‘psychotic break’.

‘There was one day that my sister said to me, “I don’t see my sister anymore,”‘ she recalled. 

I ended the tour because I was struggling with my mental health. I even spent a day in the hospital getting help. I just needed to rest and recharge – I had completely burned out.

It was a truly frightening experience, and there were moments I doubted I’d recover. I feel incredibly grateful to be alive. It might sound like an overstatement, but we understand the serious risks involved.

Now, Gaga says she’s finally found peace — and love. 

The singer says she owes a lot of her healing to her fiancé, Michael, a Harvard-educated entrepreneur. They first started dating around New Year’s Eve in 2019, publicly confirmed their relationship on Instagram in early 2020, and got engaged in April 2024.

She told Rolling Stone that finding love with someone who truly understood and cared for her as a person had a significant impact on her life.

But that self-discovery took work.

She wondered how you could truly be yourself with another person when you haven’t even figured out who ‘yourself’ is to begin with.

After years of struggle, Gaga now considers herself ‘a healthy, whole person.’

And in March, she released Mayhem — hailed as one of the greatest albums of her career.

‘It was months and months and months of rediscovering everything that I’d lost,” she explained. 

I really believe that’s why the project was named Mayhem – the process of fixing it was completely chaotic.
