Lady Gaga breaks silence on Joker 2 flop

Lady Gaga openly discussed the underperformance at the box office of “Joker: Folie à Deux” and expressed her insights on experiencing failure.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the exceptional achievements of this multi-talented figure. In 2019, she made history by being the first woman ever to claim all four major awards – the Academy Award, Grammy Award, BAFTA Award, and Golden Globe Award – in a single year. What an incredible feat!

On the other hand, unfortunately, her latest movie release didn’t resonate with viewers, and she’s taken some time to contemplate the whole experience.

Chatting in a new interview with Elle, Gaga detailed how she deals with failure and moves forward.

She mused, considering the mixed reactions to the upcoming film, “Joker 2“. Sometimes, she noted, people just don’t take a liking to certain things, and that’s okay. Being an artist, she believed, means being ready for instances where your work may not be universally appreciated.

“And you keep going even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended.”

Gaga went on to explain how damaging she believes a fear of failure can be.

She commented, “Once it enters your existence, it can become quite challenging to manage. It’s one of the elements contributing to the chaos.

In the follow-up to Todd Phillips’ 2019 blockbuster “Joker,” Lady Gaga portrayed Harley ‘Lee’ Quinzel, offering a fresh interpretation of the iconic DC Comics character, Harley Quinn.

Regrettably, the movie didn’t manage to replicate the success of its previous version due to its poor performance at the cinema.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can proudly say that “Joker” left an indelible mark on the film industry. It scooped up two prestigious Academy Awards and had a staggering opening weekend box office collection of $96.2 million. But that’s not all! This masterpiece went on to surpass the billion-dollar threshold, solidifying its place as one of the most successful films in history.

Meanwhile, the sequel only generated $58.3 million domestically and $207.5 million globally.

Moving forward, Gaga is determined to embrace the “mayhem” with her new album.

Just a heads up, the brand new 14-song album titled “Mayhem” will hit the shelves on March 7th, and you can secure your copy by pre-ordering it today!

She expressed that “Mayhem” is all about embracing your personal disorder and allowing it to lead you to any corner of your life it might take you. In essence, it’s about letting the music guide you.

Composing numerous songs for this album was an entirely passionate process. Ultimately, one must become ruthlessly decisive at the end.

Creating so many tunes for this album was a labor of pure love. Eventually, you need to be brutally selective in your choices.
