Ladies of London’s Sophie Stanbury is engaged! Reality star shares glimpse of multi-millionaire Mark Wilson’s sweet proposal as her ex’s famous sister rushes to congratulate

Sophie Stanbury from Ladies of London revealed she’s engaged to her longtime partner, multi-millionaire Mark Wilson, on Sunday.

The 50-year-old reality star, who may also be joining the new series The Real Housewives of the Cotswolds, shared adorable photos on Instagram of their proposal, which happened during a walk in the countryside.

Sophie and Mark, both dressed in tweed and wellington boots, were a perfect match. Sophie wore stylish sunglasses as Mark knelt down to propose.

Today was just magical, spent in a place that truly feels like a dream. And honestly, I can’t believe I found someone as wonderful as Mark! I keep wondering what I did to deserve him – he’s the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me.

Thank you for bringing so much happiness into my life this year. Getting engaged, planning our future home, and building a life together has been incredible, but the best part is knowing I’ll always have you by my side.

Caroline Stanbury, who previously dated Sophie’s brother and also stars on reality TV, was the first to publicly congratulate her, writing, ‘We’re so happy for you, this is wonderful news!’

Sophie and Caroline’s sister, Alex, were married from which they have two sons, Harry, 15, and Finn, 12, but they divorced in 2017.

Jamie Redknapp’s wife, Frida, and Real Housewives of London star Juliet Mayhew both expressed their excitement and congratulations.

Mark is not only Sophie’s future husband, but he’s also thought to be her business partner in her luxury brand, SoSophie London.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! Last year, the Daily Mail reported that Charlbury – this adorable market town in the Cotswolds, seriously it’s like a postcard – was being scouted as the setting for a new reality show! Everyone’s saying it’s going to be like ‘The Real Housewives,’ but…Charlbury?! I’ve been following this story obsessively, and I just know it’s going to be amazing. Can you imagine the drama in such a quaint place?

Adding a touch of glamour to this peaceful rural setting, the event will feature Sophie alongside Gabriela Peacock, a close friend of Princess Beatrice.

Let me tell you, landing this nutritionist for the show is a huge win for us! I’m hearing she’s incredibly close to Beatrice – they’re not just friends, but actually neighbors, living just a short distance from Charlbury. It’s a really exciting connection that’ll bring a lot to the project.

Gabriela is reportedly thrilled with the show and has described it to friends as sophisticated. However, she’s keeping details about Beatrice under wraps, even though the show’s creators hoped she would share some information.

According to a source, the show’s creators have assured viewers it will be tasteful and respectful, avoiding the overly dramatic conflicts often seen in shows like The Real Housewives.

‘Instead, they will focus on the women having real careers and not just being bimbos.’

Plum Sykes, the author of the popular 2024 novel Wives Like Us – which follows the lives of women in the made-up Cotswolds villages of Little Bottom, Middle Bottom, and Great Bottom – is reportedly involved as well.

As a huge fan, I’ve been following all the rumors about a potential Cotswolds version of the Housewives, and I just learned something interesting! Apparently, it won’t be called ‘The Real Housewives of the Cotswolds’ because the company making it doesn’t actually own the rights to that specific name. It’s a bit disappointing, but at least we know a show is still in the works!

It’s not surprising that reality television has come to this area, which is well-known for its beautiful countryside and has become a popular place for the rich and famous.

Taylor Swift stayed in a local cottage while touring, and now Ellen DeGeneres is the newest resident. She’s traded being neighbors with Harry and Meghan in Montecito for a quieter life in the Cotswolds.

People involved with the show say this new version will be much more sophisticated than previous ones, pointing to the participation of Gabriela, a friend of the royal family, as a sign of its higher quality.

According to an insider, the new show will be even more glamorous than ‘Made In Chelsea.’ Broadcasters are currently very interested in programs that offer a look into exclusive lifestyles.

There are a few different shows focusing on British socialites right now. Bravo is bringing back Ladies of London, Monkey Kingdom is producing a new season of Real Housewives of London, and a series called Housewives of the Cotswolds is also in the works.

‘There’s going to be a surge of those types of shows this summer.’

But the production company behind it has already hit a snag.

The first Real Housewives shows focused on the everyday lives of affluent women, often highlighting dramatic social gatherings fueled by alcohol and disagreements. These events usually took place in lavish settings.

Hotel, pub, and restaurant owners in the Cotswolds have generally been reluctant to allow filming on their properties.

The Bull at Charlbury, often called Britain’s hottest pub, was among the first places contacted. However, the owner, Phil Winser – a friend of Princess Beatrice, who is married to model Dree Hemingway – reportedly reacted very negatively.

He refused all offers of money, making it clear he wouldn’t do it no matter how much they offered.

People in the village are understandably skeptical about the producers’ promises that this show will be a family-friendly take on the Real Housewives format.
