In May, the Los Angeles Art Book Fair comes back with a fresh ambiance and location, spearheaded by renowned LA artist Mario Ayala. Now entering its 12th year, LAABF 2025 will be held from May 15 to 18 at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, signifying a new phase for this established fair that debuted in 2013.
Artist Ayala, renowned for his airbrushed style inspired by lowrider culture, Chicano muralism, and Southern California imagery, has been selected to design this year’s exclusive ticket artwork for the opening night event on Thursday, May 15th. This celebration takes place from 6 to 9 PM Pacific Time, promising a sneak peek at over 300 international and local exhibitors, accompanied by music, installations, and unique collaborations throughout ArtCenter’s studios, archives, and classrooms.
2025’s LAABF has me excited! It’s all about harnessing the educational power of art books, with an array of thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and unique projects. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us! Keep tabs on their website at Printed Matter for ticket information, schedules, and updates.
