Although Kylo Ren’s portrayal in the sequel trilogy sparked debate among fans, the character remains alive and well in Star Wars novels and comics. It seems that a fresh villain is set to join the franchise through Star Wars: Legacy of Vader, a new comic book series. In this storyline, Ren journeys to Tatooine to learn more about his grand-father, Anakin Skywalker, encountering a new Star Wars character who aims to usurp him as the leader of the Knights of Ren.
At the Star Wars Celebration, it emerged that Tava Ren will debut in Issue #8 of Marvel Comics’ series as the female head of the Knights of Ren. In this storyline, she’ll engage in a power struggle against Kylo Ren. The cover unveiled during the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at the Japan event offered fans their initial glimpse of this new character, featuring long red hair, dark clothing, and a mask that suits her name, the Ren.
As a die-hard Star Wars enthusiast, I can’t help but wonder if Tava Ren will one day grace our screens. Though Kylo Ren, otherwise known as Ben Solo, may have met his end in The Rise of Skywalker, history has shown us that the galaxy far, far away isn’t always what it seems – just ask Cassian Andor and Darth Maul who returned from their on-screen demises for fresh adventures. While it might not be entirely implausible for Adam Driver to reprise his role in the future, he himself has indicated that his Star Wars journey is complete. Yet, whispers of a Knights of Ren movie or series have been few and far between, leaving us fans hanging on for any news.
Of course, the expansive Star Wars galaxy leaves room for possibilities. So, it’s plausible that this new character and the Knights of Ren might have their moment in the spotlight on the big screen in the future.
