Kylie Minogue’s multi-million payday for performing at billionaire Anthony Pratt’s ‘backyard party’ revealed – as A-list guests including Karl Stefanovic are forced to dodge protesters

I was lucky enough to attend Anthony Pratt’s party at his amazing Melbourne home, and honestly, it wasn’t just any party – it was incredibly lavish and well-done. He really knows how to throw a celebration!

Melbourne’s wealthiest businessman threw a lavish party this weekend and hired pop superstar Kylie Minogue to perform for the guests.

Around 250 guests, including Karl Stefanovic from The Today Show and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, arrived at Pratt’s home on Saturday.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and Deputy Premier Ben Carroll were also spotted entering the building.

The chairman of Pratt Industries and Visy hosted a party starting with cocktails and a formal dinner at his large home, called Raheen.

The heritage-listed mansion is located in Kew and believed to be worth at least $100 million. 

Guests enjoyed a lively party that went late into the night, featuring a one-hour performance of Kylie’s most popular songs.

The Australian singer reportedly earned $3 million for the intimate performance, playing a one-hour set in the mansion’s backyard.

Kylie, age 57, performed some of her biggest hits, like her first singles “The Loco-Motion,” “Better the Devil You Know,” and “Especially For You.”

The concert also included popular hits like “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Spinning Around,” “On a Night Like This,” and her latest success, “Padam Padam.”

Kylie shared that performing “Especially For You” brought back some fond memories, as it was originally recorded as a duet with her former boyfriend and “Neighbours” co-star, Jason Donovan.

She mentioned filming her old soap opera in Nunawading, comparing it to a simple, everyday experience like driving her Datsun.

Stefanovic hosted the event, and Pratt joined him on stage to sing ‘Oh Darlin” by The Beatles.

Protesters gathered outside the mansion with signs as guests arrived, creating an unwelcome scene.

A protester disguised as mining billionaire Gina Rinehart walked towards the large security guards stationed at the front gate.

A large sign erected on the lawn read, ‘Stop arming Israel’. 

Several police officers arrived and began talking with both security personnel and protesters near the front gate.

For over thirty years, Pratt, age 65, has led the company’s operations in the U.S., starting in 1991. He became the head of the worldwide business – a leading force in Australia – after his father, Richard, passed away in 2009.

Pratt once explained to the Australian Financial Review that money is a good way to measure success, among other things.

Since 2009, we’ve grown the business significantly – more than doubled in size, actually. And that success is thanks to the incredible contributions of many people – we wouldn’t be where we are today without them, just like the saying goes: “If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”

‘I was very fortunate that I had my father. He was a great man and a great teacher.’ 

I’ve been a huge fan of Pratt’s events for years, and what always impresses me is how he consistently gets A-list celebrities to perform. It’s incredible!

He hired Katy Perry, the American pop star, to perform in 2024. Reports suggest she was paid $1.5 million for the appearance.
