Kylie Minogue shows off her figure in a sexy Santa outfit after achieving her first UK Christmas Number 1 single in 37 year singing career

Kylie Minogue celebrated reaching the top of the UK Christmas charts for the first time by sharing a playful photo of herself dressed as Santa on Wednesday.

The 57-year-old Australian singer looked fantastic in a recent Instagram post, wearing a bright red velvet jacket with a white faux-fur-trimmed hood that flared into a short skirt.

A wide, shiny black belt highlighted her waist and created a flattering silhouette.

She finished the outfit – the same one she wore in her Christmas music video – with red and white striped tights and black leather boots that reached her knees.

I was absolutely captivated watching her video! She was standing in front of the most gorgeous Christmas tree, with fluffy fake snow all around, and wished all her fans a ‘Merry Christmas,’ sending so much love and hoping we were all having a wonderful time. It felt so personal and sweet!

She shared the cheerful video with a message wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, sending lots of love.

Kylie recently achieved a major career milestone with her new song, XMAS, reaching number one – a first for the pop star after waiting 37 years.

Kylie Minogue reached the top of the UK charts for the first time in 1987 with her song “I Should Be So Lucky.” And, since 2007, Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” featuring the late George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, has consistently appeared on the charts each year.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” remained popular, holding steady at number 3, while Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” landed at number 4 – both songs repeating their positions from the previous year.

The song “Lullaby” by Together For Palestine debuted at number 5 on the Christmas charts and became the week’s best-selling track.

Over 15 artists, like Neneh Cherry, Brian Eno, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix, collaborated on a song to raise money for children in Gaza.

Kylie recently shared her excitement after winning the Christmas Number One spot, saying it’s a truly incredible feeling and the perfect holiday gift.

I’m incredibly grateful for all of your support and for spreading the word. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

“XMAS” is Mariah Carey’s eighth song to reach number one, and it’s also the first original song from Amazon Music to top the official Christmas chart.

Kylie has had five number-one hits in the past, including popular songs like “I Should Be So Lucky,” “Tears on My Pillow,” and “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.” Someone in the music industry called her recent Christmas chart success a ‘fresh start’ or ‘revival’ for her career.

This new accomplishment comes on the heels of Kylie’s album, ‘Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped),’ reaching number one on the charts last week.

After topping the charts at Christmas in both 2023 and 2024, WHAM!’s “Last Christmas” comes in second place this year.

Kylie’s performance of the popular song on Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing drew an audience of nearly seven million viewers, and she followed that up with an appearance on Scott Mills’ Radio 2 breakfast show on Friday morning.

The song’s success is partly due to being available only on Amazon – it’s featured on playlists for Amazon devices like Alexa, which boosts its streaming numbers.

Because fewer people are buying physical copies of music, the way charts are calculated has changed. Now, 100 streams are equivalent to one sale when determining chart positions.

This change has significantly impacted the top Christmas songs, giving an advantage to well-known classics and songs that perform well on streaming services.
